Got the special. The biskets were good. The eggs were cooked well. However the gravy was terrible and the has browns were practically raw. Server took care of us. We didn’t complain about the food tho. Decent price for the portions.

Got a waitress , she left halfway through bc her shift was over .
Didn’t get refills on drinks at first.

We won’t be back until the longstanding sewer smell is cared for, the AC is fixed and the food on the menu is well stocked. This could be a great place if management was on top of their game. Who wants to sit in the scorching heat inside a restaurant and smell sewer while eating a third choice off the menu because the restaurant is not stocked with the food offered on their menu. We feel sorry for the staff working in these conditions. Management needs to do better and care more about their staff and customers!

Love this place! I grew up going to Truman Lake, but haven’t really been to many restaurants around it. We decided to try one for lunch and chose Chompy’s (because we loved the name, but also because I wanted a nice view of the lake). The staff was very friendly and attentive. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries and it was delicious. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone in the area.

Our waitress was great! Atmosphere was ok. Food and drinks smelled like lake water!! I will never go back. I should have been suspicious when we walked in at noon and there were no other customers.

The service was good. I had breakfast, The eggs and ham was good however the gravy had no taste and the hash browns were under cooked. Husband had the chicken tenders was supposed to be 4 tenders only received 3, the first one had a fish taste.

We have been to Chompys several times this season and although they advertise breakfast served all day and their menu says breakfast all day, this is not true. We have been told on most of our visits they are not serving breakfast. They also never have whats noted on their menu (example – cinnamon rolls) and are often out of some of the most basics (example – coffee creamer, milk). Several of the waitress (not all) are dressed inappropriate showing more than needed, not professional and with wild hair, hats etc. Some looking as if they are headed to a bar and others looking as if they just came from a long night at the bar. A standard Chompys tshirt and hair up is a much cleaner look for employees. We have found another restaurant that does serve breakfast all day as advertised, has the items on their menu, employees are dressed appropriate, does not smell like toilet water and has air condition at all times.

Went there for breakfast on Sunday June 22, 2025. Restaurant was closed. Sign on door said closed until further notice due to extreme heat. I’m thinking summer is just starting, guess I’ll try again in September. Do they not have air conditioning?

Have been there for breakfast several times and lunch once. Food was excellent and service very good. If you have lunch try the fries, best fries around. Will be back!
