We’re in Calgary for a soccer tournament and chose Bona Roma purely because it was across the parking lot from our hotel.
We thought it would be convenient.
We did NOT expect it to emotionally change us.
The second you walk in, you can tell it’s family owned and run with genuine love in every single dish. It feels like you’ve been invited into someone’s home.
Now let’s discuss the Alfredo.
I am an Alfredo loyalist. I’ve ordered it everywhere. I have standards. And this one? Game over. It’s hands down the best Alfredo I’ve ever had. Creamy, rich, perfectly balanced…it has permanently reset my expectations. I will now be judging all future Alfredo against this bowl and they will all lose.
They also offer gluten friendly options and were knowledgeable and thoughtful about it, which makes such a difference when you’re traveling.
And our waiter (one of the owners) made us feel like family within minutes. He had our entire table laughing and turned dinner into an experience instead of just a meal.
So now I guess we just… have to keep coming back to Calgary to eat here? This feels like a commitment.
Please adopt me. I will fold napkins. I will taste test pasta.

Positively surprised by the quality of the food. The custom pizza was really nice and properly loaded with all ingredients. The pasta was amazing as well as the garlic toast. Really enjoyed the chap who served us. Gave some very good vibes. Whenever we’re back in the area. Definitely returning here.

At first we were hesitant to try this place, thinking it might be just another Italian restaurant selling frozen pizza, but we were so wrong! We’re glad we gave it a chance. Our first order was for our wedding anniversary, when we decided to have a simple dinner at home since it’s difficult to drive in the snow with a 10-month-old baby.
We ordered the carbonara and their specialty pizza. The carbonara was the best we’ve tasted in Calgary so far! The pizza was incredible, way better than chain restaurants, and you can tell everything is homemade with fresh ingredients.
We’re now regular customers, and thankfully they’re located right across from where we live. I’m hoping to try their tiramisu next, as I’ve been craving it forever. So far, out of five places we’ve tried in Calgary, only one has had decent tiramisu.

This place is a great find and it is amazing ! I believe it is a family ran business which makes it so special and the food is definitely 10 out of 10. The service is great and friendly! Couldn’t ask for a better date night place for me and my wife. We will definitely be coming back on the regular. Can’t wait to try some of the other items on the menu. Went to Bona Roma for the first time after driving past it for years, and man do I regret not going sooner. This restaurant not only had great food but the service was next level!! The bruschetta was unbelievable and all pastas and pizza we got were great. Can’t wait to go back and recommend you go check this place out!!

We ordered delivery from Bona Roma tonight for the first time. It was delicious! From amazing service when we placed the order over the phone, to them going out of their way to deliver to our address, as well as the overall piping hot temperature when it arrived, to the incredible taste of the meals (three lasagna and a small pepperoni pizza) I cannot say enough good things. We will certainly order from them again. Happy to support a local business with great people, great prices, and great food! Thank you.

Just a great little eatery. Went with family (7 people) and were able to sit right away though small place. Caesar salads and pizzas-both were great. Hard to find these days but-great and friendly service, great food, and excellent value. Recommend.

We tried Bona Roma for Valentine’s Day dinner, and our experience was so delightful! Everything was so good and charming from the food, to the ambiance, and service.
This is our first time eating here, and we were pleasantly surprised about how big the portions are. We ordered the Valentine’s dinner special which includes a Caesar salad, a double portion of the Spaghetti Carbonara, and Tiramisu for dessert. We also ordered a Neapolitan pizza, Mambo II flavor. We were so full and felt like we ate so much, but also still have plenty of leftovers. Yum, yum, yum!

Wow! This little Gem of an Italian restaurant has amazing food, at very reasonable prices! The staff / owners are super friendly & seemed like many people picking up knew them! Whenever we are back in Calgary, we will do our best to get back here for another yummy, homemade meal (& we will tell others).
