We live across from The Summit where this spot is located, there used to be another Mexican restaurant there but it was not very good – this is an incredible upgrade to the point we were actually surprised the first time we stopped in for happy hour. Now it’s our go-to for Mexican food in the area (over the Spotted Donkey and el Cantina!)
The decor has had a complete overhaul and its modern and comfortable. The bar is nice and open air and there’s ample patio seating. Reservations are recommended but not required and we’ve been able to get seats with a short wait even when it’s busy.
The food is so well prepared! We took our friends from Detroit here last night, we usually take them to the Spotted Donkey at the Boulders but they agreed this was so much better. We had great service last night and the food always comes out quickly,
Chips and salsa come to the table when you get seated – but we always ask for a side of quac it’s so good here, the chips are super crispy and salty, Drinks are good – I always have the strawberry rosé!
Flautas are one of the best appetizers but you can totally make a meal of that if you have a smaller appetite. We haven’t had a disappointing meal there yet and we’ve been at least six times now, I’m sorry to be sharing this review so late. Husband loves the chimichangas and the chicken tortilla soup! We stopped by La Concina for happy hour and to get a small bite for a late lunch. The bar is amazing with 27 seats. We had salsa with queso. The watermelon margarita was delicious. Refreshing, lite and not to sweet. The server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We would definitely come back to experience a meal.

Took my mother to dinner here last night, and to say it was excellent would be an understatement. From being seated until we left, the folks taking care of us were top notch. Our server Alex had great recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed, and he hit that perfect mark of checking in often enough but not too much. And then the food – let’s just say you won’t be disappointed or leave hungry. I’m looking forward to the second half of my burrito for dinner tonight!

@laco_mexicankitchen is a newer restaurant that has joined other great local restaurants located at The Summit on Scottsdale. It brings a warm, inviting atmosphere that is both causal and classy for a nice lunch or dinner for any couple, friends, or family. Inside, is beautiful decor and outside is a small patio that’s nice on a beautiful AZ day (we just happened to be there on a rare rainy cold April day that made us quickly pack up and go).
Service was very friendly from the hostess to the waitstaff. Food came out quick and was very good. Our margaritas hit the spot, and the salsa had just enough heat to add great extra flavor. I think we need to return on a non rainy day when we can eat slowly and savor the delicious looking wagyu fajitas that we witnessed other tables order.
Even with the rain, it was a nice family dinner on the patio after playing at the new Ashler Hills Park just behind the Summit.

Margaritas are great! Their mix tastes house made.
The food was delicious, with quality, well flavored meats and accompaniments.
Their red enchilada sauce was a pleasant surprise, skips that overly sweet flavor in many others.
The Abodingas soup was excellent with large tender meatballs.

We drove past here by accident, but decided to go in.
Boy was that a GREAT decision. Everything – the service, the food, the atmosphere, the pricing was absolutely fantastic.
They use snake river farms for their beef, they don’t use any seed oils and it’s amazing. We will be coming back for sure.
The bar is nice, they have a huge patio come winter time. It’s going to be the go to spot.

The service was phenomenal! My wife and I are always a little apprehensive about bringing our toddlers out to restaurants, but Sophia and the rest of the staff were more than accommodating. Sophia even gave us churros and ice cream to celebrate our son’s second birthday. Thank you!

Extremely slow service. Server had an attitude about getting a new soda that was flat. Plates stacked up on our table and all around us with no one to clear them. The table next to us didn’t get cleared for an hour. Food took forever to come out and then was cold. Overall bad experience.

This Mexican Kitchen was very, very good! Everything from the food, service, and menu choices to the ambiance with a low noise level make our dinner excellent. I would recommend this for anyone who likes Mexican food. Their menu is extensive and their wait staff very polite. Our bill was in the range indicated because my husband and I split a burrito – large enough for two!
