My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast here today. The atmosphere is full of British charm, right down to the fresh flowers at every table.
One of the biggest highlights for me was the acoustics. I am hearing impaired, and often restaurants are too loud for me to converse comfortably. However, even when the cafe was completely full, the noise level was perfectly managed, and we could speak at a normal volume. It was such a relief to enjoy a meal without noise pollution.
The food was excellent as well. My husband had the croissant breakfast sandwich and said it was the best he has ever had. I had the soft egg with wheat toast; while the egg was just a fraction over, it was still delicious and didn’t detract from the meal at all. The coffee was fantastic (self-serve with free refills and different blends), and the prices are unbelievably reasonable for Oakwood.
Note: They do not accept credit cards, but they do take Venmo, which was a convenient “tech win” for us. We can’t wait to return for High Tea!

This place was fantastic. I took my sister out for her birthday and we enjoyed a fabulous pot of white tea from the cutest teacups, the Café was packed with people when we got there, and the parking situation was a bit rough, but the service was so friendly and welcoming, and the croissants and marmalade my sister and I ordered were the best I’d ever had. We still talk about those croissants weeks later, and we’re very excited to come back.

Everything was delicious! The carrot soup and scones were especially amazing!!

As another reviewer mentioned, they only accept CASH or CHECKs, which was almost a disaster for us. We visited on a busy weekend and I don’t normally carry cash. We waited in line for a while before I noticed the sign. Thankfully I had some cash on me, but I would have ordered more if they’d accepted credit.

Update – I really love how their soup and sandwiches taste homemade and fresh. Egg salad was great, desserts are fantastic and they also offer french soda.

So satisfying, couldn’t take a picture of the scone because I ate it up so fast first time trying with the cream and jam that isn’t too sweet but just right❤️ my ham, tomato and cheese croissant is delicious. I would come back and explore the menu for lunch. Such a great mom and pop place.

Cute little cafe in Oakwood. Note they only accept cash or Venmo. The food is delicious and fresh. I normally don’t like scones but theirs are excellent. Service was very slightly slow but they have a small staff and were busy. Everyone was friendly. My friend and I visited for afternoon tea and the price was extremely reasonable for all the food they serve you.

Went here for my birthday and got the high tea. The sandwiches were so incredibly good and so were the scones. The lemon tart-like dessert was also good. Some of the best chai I’ve ever had! Adorable teacups and saucers and pots too.

A small English tea/bakery in Dayton. The owners are polite and friendly. You get the rustic feeling when sitting inside. Their tea pot, cup and saucers are beautiful. I got the scone with cream and jam. The jam was excellent. They also have sandwiches. I highly recommend paying them a visit. Overall a great place.

Central Perc is amazing. I visited for the first time about a week ago and enjoyed a Heath Bar Latte, which was lovely. Yesterday I ordered High Tea for two via takeout, and I was extremely impressed to receive all of the pastries and sandwiches boxed up. The tea (House Blend) was a lovely and traditional flavor, (which is exactly what I asked for!) and it was bagged up right in front of me. I enjoyed all of the sides, especially the Victoria Sandwich Cake and the cheese finger sandwich. I also appreciated the friendly and quick service. Be sure to bring cash or cheque if you stop in. Will continue to visit!

I went with my boyfriend on a date and it was great! The staff was very nice and the food was amazing. I got the cheesy toast with tomato, their portion sizes are also perfect in my opinion. Enough to fill you up, but still leaves room for desert. Speaking of their deserts are also pretty tasty, we had the manchester and an apple tart. I believe they make their own whipped cream, but I might be wrong. Anyway I definitely recommend thus place for a date or a get together with friends!

Central Perc has a great tea selection—I had the Buccaneer, my friend had chamomile, and both were delicious. Our teas arrived early with cute pot covers, but the food took well past 2 PM to arrive, despite us getting there 30 minutes early. With how busy the café was, no one explained what to expect, which left us a little uncertain.

The sandwiches were delicious, though their circular arrangement made it hard to tell who got what. It was a bit surprising to find a peanut butter and banana sandwich mixed in with more traditional options like tuna, egg salad, and turkey. The egg pie was two eggy, which threw us for a loop considering we both thought it might have been custard, sugar cream, or cheesecake, something similar to the other sweet pies displayed. The other pies were delicious and we were told housemade. The scones were more like biscuits, not my favorite, but the jam and cream helped.

Overall, we enjoyed the experience, but a little more communication and timeliness would have made it even better!
