I recently visited Flatfish Café and had the bruschetta, it was absolutely delicious! Super fresh and full of flavour. The location is lovely too, perfect for a relaxed bite to eat.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming, which really added to the experience. I’ve recently started trying to eat healthier and I was really impressed with the wide range of options on the menu, there’s something to suit everyone.
Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back soon!

We grabbed the Lazy Benny Roll and Big Breakfast and wow!! Crispy bacon, soft egg, fresh spinach, and the creamiest hollandaise sauce all on a soft bun. Basically Eggs Benny in a roll, and all the brekkie favourites that totally blew me away.
Only $11 for the roll too, which feels like a steal for something that good. Chill vibes, great views, 100% recommend if you’re in the area!

Absolutely loved Flatfish Cafe. The service was exceptional, genuinely friendly and attentive. Coffee was good and my double egg burger was delicious, cooked perfectly. Such a great spot, will definitely be back.

The Flatfish Cafe is a Seafood place located behind the Fish Co-op in Newcastle. It is basically a hole in the wall shop, BUT the food and service is AMAZING!!
We ordered the grilled Barra, Fish Cocktails and some potato scallops. The Barra was the best I have had in a very long time!! Delicious!! The Fish Cocktails were almost as good as the Barra, but still very nice. And the scallops, well, they are potato scallops, YUM!! And the ladies behind the counter are just a charm!!
Not to mention eating fantastic seafood by the water!! WOW!!
I HIGHLY recommend Flatfish Cafe for amazing seafood and service!!

This fish and chippery is the real deal. Great old fashioned freshly battered fish and tasty fare. There is care in the cooking, you taste the seafood not the oil. There are also healthy options with the grilled Barra and salad worthy of any restaurant. The staff are hardworking and friendly. Next to the Fish co-op and a view of the trawlers.

Their homemade tartare sauce is a winner.
The menu is delightfully short allowing the team to deliver uncomplicated staples while squeezing in a weekly special to keep things interesting.

Waited way too long 1 hour for fish and chip. Fish was good chip frozen ones $10 was a joke there was a other order the same they had a lot of chips mine were stuffed under my $4 a a piece of tiny cocktail fish and I paid $3 for gravy I got about 30 MLS of it omg

Ordered flat head and chips. I specifically asked for large chips. When it came out it was the exact same size as small chips. Plus cost me an extra 6$ or so. There card surcharge was very steep! Won’t be coming back and won’t be recommending it!

For a fish and chip shop connected to a fish market, I expected better. It was quite expensive for the portion size — the fish was small and there were only about 10 chips. Disappointing for the price.
