I was in town for a concert and had a craving for some real soul food, so we tried Raleigh Soul Kitchen based on the reviews. I ordered the fried chicken, and let me tell you, it came out so fresh and hot it practically burned through the container . The seasoning was perfect and the flavor was on point.

There were a few little chicken hairs on a couple pieces, which was a tiny turnoff, but not enough to ruin the whole experience . The mac and cheese and the greens were pretty good too. Nothing disappointing, just solid comfort food.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely visit again. The chicken alone is worth the trip ✨.

When I opened my to go box of fried cat fish with Mac and cheese and collard greens I teared up. When my wife let me try one of her honey lemon pepper wings, that flavor took me to the recording studio of the gospel tracks they were jamming to in the kitchen. We were eating in the car so I had to grab the steering wheel so we wouldn’t crash after that first delicious bite, thing is we were parked and yet I was still singing “Jesus take the wheel.” Everyone there was super nice and I plan to go back with a full roll of paper towels this time. Check them out, now!

Worth the drive outside the city! I was so homesick for good food! This place is excellent & the smells are so incredible as u walk in! Fried pork chops so tender & seasoning was on point! My goodness the yams n mac n cheese was rediculously good. Make ya wanna smack somebody! I seriously got emotional at the first bite! It was HOME ya’ll..im telling u it was the comfort i needed. The staff came out of the kitchen to say hey & talk about West TN where I’m from & alabama football. It was a great experience overall. Get on down there & get a plate! I can’t wait to come back real soon! Which i am! thank u for uplifting my spirits & being a blessing just by serving me wonderful food with a smile! Ya’ll are the best!❤️ -Susie Q

Raleigh Soul Kitchen is an absolute 10/10 experience from start to finish. The moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel genuinely welcomed — warm, inviting, and proud of what they do. The energy in the place is unmatched, and the hospitality alone would bring me back again and again.

Now let’s talk about the food — specifically the lemon pepper wings. Hands down, the best lemon pepper wings in Raleigh, North Carolina. Perfectly cooked, insanely flavorful, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned to absolute perfection. No exaggeration — they set the standard.

Everything about Raleigh Soul Kitchen hits: the vibe, the service, and the food. If you’re in Raleigh and haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out. Best wings in the city, incredible staff, unforgettable experience. Highly recommend.

Catfish was fresh and made to order! Seasoning was spot on. It paired really well with the yellow rice and collard greens. The sticky ribs were really good but a bit too sweet, same with yams— but this just my personal preference. Both were cooked really well. My 7yo enjoyed the mac and cheese! We’ll be back!

Best damn collards I’ve ever had!!!! The catfish and peas and rice were good too. Fish breading was flavored perfectly. I can’t wait to try the ox tails. Please don’t let the location scare you away. Often it’s the hole in the wall places you are going to find the best food. Where the focus is on the food not the ambience. If you want great food go here. Plus the service was excellent too.

Not the best location, but the chef knows what he’s doing in the kitchen! The catfish, hot honey Hennessy wings, yams, mac and cheese and collards were great. The oxtails could have been cooked longer to have that fall of the bone effect. Located in a gas station, the parking is very limited.

Stopped in randomly due to passing through the area and found a hidden gem. Service was great . Employees had great attitudes. Ordered majority of items on the menu which were reasonably priced. Favorite was the Oxtails meal. Wait was not overbearing as the line was fairly long. Comes with having good food. Guy that took my order gave great suggestions especially noting one item that was waiting to be remade. If ever on that side or passing through this is a must.. Wife and kids enjoyed their items as well.

Food is very good and service is okay. It is not a sit down restaurant and located within a store which doesn’t bother me but just FYI for others. Overall fried pork chop was amazing and tasty. Mac and cheese and yams were delicious as well. Great option for to go soul food.

Very good food! Bear in mind that this place doesn’t have dine-in area, it is only pick-up/carryout.
It was my first time trying this food and I am very surprised by how good it is, the prices are pretty reasonable and the portions are huge.
I do wish they’d have a different container (paper) for the waffle fries because by the time you get home, the fries are no longer crispy.
