TLDR; Kathy is amazing, helped us make the most of our anniversary, and the food & drinks were fantastic!!
My wife and I booked a hotel room on the beach for our first anniversary last weekend. Unfortunately this room had a broken bed that was missing legs, the fridge didn’t work, and only one outlet in the room worked but it had the lights plugged into it. They were unable to repair any of this so we had to make do until morning which resulted in a pretty rough night. We checked out of the hotel and were torn about whether we should just call it a loss and head home early or to try to make the most of it. It was really crappy weather out but we decided to hit Brunch while we thought it over. Kathy was our waitress and the absolute best. I told her it was our anniversary and we wanted to have some fun on a rainy day so she wrote down a bunch of places she and the other waitresses liked, what time they opened, and then surprised us with special anniversary pancakes and drinks. After the night we had my wife was choked up by this gesture and honestly me too. We took her recommendations and had an amazing time!! Brunches is great, we will definitely be making another trip back to this location, and Kathy is the seriously the best server I’ve ever met!!

We had an amazing brunch today. Our waitress (I think her name was Ansley) was 10/10. She was knowledgable, friendly, and gave us amazing recommendations for what to do in the area and in Wilmington. Her service was fast and the food was sooooo good. We could not have had a better experience.

We went this past WKnd as we were in town visiting and was happy to see a new spot at this location finally. Boy were we impressed with the decor and murals and their menu is fantastic!! The chicken nachos were so good and large, lots of chicken and cooked perfectly and the waygu meatloaf was to die for and HUGE so glad we were sharing, and we still took some back for the next day. I ordered a margarita and it was very good too. We were pleasantly surprised there is a location in Cary and one coming soon to Raleigh, that’s where we live, we will check them out and .70 wings Wednesday is what we will check out soon in Cary!!! Plenty of seating both inside and out plus a nice rooftop bar area as well, so check this place out, you will be glad you did!!

Highly recommend if you’re staying in Carolina Beach. Got the ultimate chicken biscuits and a Reese’s cocktail. My wife got the crab cake Benedict, which was also good.

My son liked the Netella french toast and liked it. They had good sized chocolate milks.
Very easy to find if you’re staying at the oceanfront. We had no wait when we came on a Wednesday during fall break. Liked that it had free parking.

The inside was much bigger than we anticipated. Our server Jesse was prompt to greet us and kept my coffee mug filled up and never let our waters go empty. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic!

So Brunches and Brews is a great casual restaurant focusing on Brunch. But their menu also includes dinner items as well. They have a full bar + solid beer menu that includes domestics, imports and craft beers. Their footprint is expanding with locations in Cary, Wilmington and Carolina Beach as well. New stores are planned for Raleigh, Charlotte and Chapel Hill, NC. Plan to visit one of these locations and you’ll enjoy a great meal with an excellent wait staff. If at the Carolina Beach location, ask for Mika, she’s one of the managers and will take great care of you and your crowd!

Can’t believe we didn’t find this place sooner! Ate here for lunch on the last day of our vacation and realized we should’ve been there all week. Food was incredible, beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Everything we ordered was top-tier. Prices were very affordable as well! Great atmosphere, no wait for seating, and super quick service! Thankful more locations are opening!

The food was pretty good but I felt it was overpriced. They do run some sort of daily special though. Fridays had 6$ burgers…. But I only saw one burger on the dinner menu and fries are not included (it does seem breakfast/ lunch menu has more options). My husband got the firecracker bowl which he felt was also overpriced and dry (not really much of a sauce as pictured) so he felt he was spending around 16 for chicken chunks and rice. The kids all American meal (breakfast for dinner) got a thumbs up from our kid though. The service was good, friendly and polite. We did have to wait a considerable time for our check with only a few other tables sat, but we were there closer to closing time as well. The place had a cool atmosphere, pretty open concept with plenty of room.

Writing a review because I’m shocked by the amount of single use plastics this place used. Water cups were throw away, ramekin containers, even my friend’s breakfast potatoes were in a styrofoam cup instead of simply being placed on the plate.
The waitress said during the week the water is in reusable cups and on the weekend they switch to throw away because of the burden on the dishwasher.
Hire another dishwasher for those shifts.
I understand it can be hard to find people to work service industry jobs but are consumers in that much of a rush that we can’t just slow things down and have a proper meal without plastic? This is such a societal and systemic issue. Brunches is a chain and I’m unsure if this practice is normal for all locations or specific to this location.
Please monitor your unnecessary use of plastics.
