Arrived at Frank’s on Franklin Road just after 3:00pm so missed the lunch specials, but we were the only diners in the restaurant which made the attention from the server outstanding! I had the Steak Special Sub (meat with grilled onions mushrooms and green peppers) and it was very delicious and tasty with long strands of hot cheese. I noted that the tomato, and lettuce were missing,
but the choice was still delicious. My dining mate had a Meatball Sub and asked for a few peppers for which she was charged an additional 75 cents. She deemed it delicious and very enjoyable. Both subs came with abundant chips and a tasty pickle. No other diners came in during the time we were there, so excellent service! Price was average for subs and sandwiches these days. Decor is rather plain and I love the Tiffany-like overhanging lights. Both subs were very large and we both took half home with us. See photo.

So we ordered a large pizza tonight (10/7) and an antipasto salad. First why is there always a pound of mozzarella on the salads not necessary. Second in order to eat what looks like a half baked pizza I needed fire up my oven and finish cooking it see pic. Third having worked in restaurants including pizzerias if that is real sausage you are sadly mistaken. Fourth we didn’t order NY style the crust if made right and cooked properly should stand up on its own. And finally this is just another place going down hill because of the quality in their product. We will not be ordering or going there again, ever.
So after cooking it there’s a few more things wrong. Can you shave the sausage any thinner? I actually picked a piece up and could see through it. Where’s the flavor? From the dough to the toppings no taste, almost took a covid test. Would have fed it to the raccoons but didn’t want to have them mad at me
Finally I know this is a book but it would have been zero stars if possible. Save your money your health and go somewhere else

I’ve been a customer of Frank’s Pizza at Hunting Hills for more than 25 years, which makes this review especially disappointing to write. Over time, the quality has declined significantly, and incorrect to-go orders have become the norm rather than the exception.

The deluxe calzone—once loaded with meat and cheese—is now flat and underfilled, barely resembling what made it great in the first place. Longtime customers can absolutely tell the difference.

Meanwhile, Frank’s Pizza at Brambleton consistently delivers better food and service. I truly hope the Hunting Hills location recognizes what’s been lost and works to regain the quality that built its reputation.

Came tonight to eat in . Ate usual is steak sub small cheese pizza . 2 drinks . Arrived at 7:25 waitresses was sweeping at the front door . And as we approached she said oh we close at 8. It was only 7:25. She made us feel like she didn’t want us to come in so we turned around and walked back. To car . We had plenty of time to eat . Have never been turned around before . Hopefully the owner will read this . I have always assumed if you close at 8 you take customers till 8 . Am I wrong for thinking that .

Pretty much the best pizza in Roanoke, in my opinion. Been coming here for almost 20 years and have yet to find a better spot.

Baked Spaghetti with meat sauce is extremely DRY. Would it kill you to add more sauce? It’s like the Sahara Desert it’s so dry.

I’m usually not disappointed in their chicken salad subs at all!!! But this last time I’m shocked. We ordered over $150 in food but because we ordered 5 chicken salad subs they gave us GIANT tomatoes (not like the normal cuts they do) and shorted us on meat. I find it ridiculous that because we ordered so much they shorted us. It was like eating just bread. Do better!

The food was delicious, fresh, and hot. The ladies that were taking care of us were very nice and efficient. This is our go to place when we are on this side of town.

I really enjoy Frank’s deluxe calzones. Its usually my go to. My wife loves their manicotti. This location does a good job with both.
