Prices were high for the small portion sizes I received. The waitress was inattentive. Because of this, the service was slow, despite the fact that the diner had no customers besides me and one other table.
I had the corn nuggets appetizer which was tasty. I then had a grilled cheese, which came with soup- today’s was creamy asparagus soup, which was tasty. The grilled cheese was made with american cheese.

My husband had the all you can eat ribs that fell apart. I had the MA and PA burger. It was delicious. Definitely eat here for great food and fast /friendly service!

Quaint restaurant, friendly staff, and awesome breakfast. Clearly a local favorite. It was busy, but worth the wait. They were quick at table turns and kept things moving. The country fried steak and pancakes were great.

Diane had the cod fish sandwich with fries. The fish was thick, tender, crispy and flavorful. The roll was soft and fresh. The dries were hot and mostly crisp.
I had the all-you-can-eat fried chicken special. I could only eat the original 4 pieces she brought out but it was still worth it. The chicken was not crispy but more of the original KFC with its very own blend of seasoning that soaked all into the meat.
We both had a cup of the bean & ham soup. While thinner than we both care for, the flavor was good.
They even put our picture up on the “wall of shame”.
Overall,, highly recommended two thumbs-up

I have never seen a restaurant work harder than this little diner did when I came through Oelwein with RAGBRAI.
Everything was fantastic, all the food was delicious and beautifully plated, flavorful, generously portioned, quick.
I thought the bell by the door was going to get ripped right off the wall (“ring if you had a great meal”). Thank you so much!
