Purely based on taste, this place is a winner. These bagels are everything NJ bagels should be— crispy on the outside, squishy on the inside. Crave them when I’m gone, chase them when I’m back. Not the cheapest option for bagels in the area, but definitely a tasty one, and just one is substantially filling. Not stingy on the cream cheese at this place, and there’s really no way to beat a BEC on an egg bagel.

I am originally from Brooklyn. Mostly grew up in this area, but have lived in Manhattan for the last 12 years. I’ve had my fair share of bagels. These bagels are the most delicious by a freakin landslide. Like not even close. Just trust me. You can’t go wrong. They are so good I’ll just eat a plain bagel nothing on it and be happy. However, do yourself a favor and request the well done ones, get a mix of the dozen and you’ll struggle to pick your fave!
PS- tuna and chicken salads are straight fuego.
PPS- unless you want to be the local version of a shoobie, order a TAYLOR HAM egg and cheese S, P & ketchup!

Upon leaving the Hilton across the street I was in the mood for a bagel and coffee. I saw this bagel store and when leaving the hotel and was pleasantly surprised to see my thoughts were answered. I am an egg bagel kind of guy and was happy to see they offered them. In fact one of the workers just put out a new batch of egg bagels as I approached next in line which made me even more excited.
Bagels in NJ are just different from what you would find in NYC. Especially when it comes to egg bagels. In NJ egg bagels are much more darker yellow in color and have sort of a hard crisp when you bite into them. They also feel like you know they will be hard as a rock by the next day if you do not eat them the same day you buy them.
Overall, the egg bagel itself was pretty tasty for a bagel in NJ. Could have been because i got one from the fresh batch they just put out. The reason for the three star rating was the service you get here. Everyone just seemed like they did not want to be there. Everyone looked mean and miserable. One of the workers kept looking at me like he wanted to fight me or something. Really, really weird. They also moved so slow that there was 1 person in front of me when I got there and by the time it was my turn to order the line was out the door. No sense of urgency to keep the line moving at all. It felt more like we were on their time to get the food they sell which I did not understand since there was nothing that much special about this place expect for the fact of the location, so maybe they felt some sort of entitlement, I dunno. I paid for my coffee and buttered bagel (from a guy at the register who was a little nicer and seemed like the owner) and was on my way.
I think if they can work on the customer service aspect of their business with the workers they hire it could be that much better.

I’ve been here multiple times, and sadly, I have to say, I always feel disappointed after spending my money here. Today was the icing on the cake. A tiny egg, cheese, and hash brown wrap cost me a bit over $8.. I did ask for an additional egg because the sandwich only comes with 1, and I Know a hash brown adds to cost too, but I just can’t justify the cost when I’m still hungry after that, and they didn’t even have decaf coffee.

When we first walked through the door, I was overwhelmed by how many people were standing in line. However, I thought it just meant the food was really good. When we finally got up to order, I got a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. It was an affordable sandwich. I believe the whole process took about 30 minutes. It was a Saturday morning, so I think it’s just really populate around that time. The food was great. The bagel tasted fresh and was soft. I had no complaints about the food. Just the length of time I waited for it. However, it was worth the wait.

Service was not so great, bagel was good. Guy asked me about 4 times what I wanted. Gave him the order on his paper, 10 minutes and $15 later. Skimmpy sandwich , which came to me wrong and missing a meat.

Great bagels and great breakfast sandwiches. Seriously, something about their breakfast bagels and eggs just makes them so much better than the other bagel/breakfast shops in the area. Highly recommend

Solid bagels, nicely boiled and baked. Nice variety of specialty cream cheeses, the favorite in our office seems to be the cinnamon raisin. They do a nice job with toasting and loading toppings. They smooth on just the right amount of butter, no portion of the bagel is left without and heat from the toast means it is all absorbed into the bread for a tasty treat which can be enjoyed without making a mess of things.

I don’t know why I even try anywhere but Alfa Bagels. If you think this place has a good bagel , try Alfa in Randolph. If you think this place is terrible, I agree, try Alfa.

Bagels were below average, and barely any seasoning on the everything bagels. The place is a mess and completely unorganized. The staff all seem confused. I also asked for my bagel to be toasted and the guy gave me a hard time. I had to ask three times for it to be toasted, and finally he said okay. There are better bagel places in the area, I recommend going somewhere else.
