Our omakase experience tonight was absolutely amazing! Every ingredient was incredibly fresh, and the flavors were clean, sweet, and memorable. You can really taste the chef’s commitment to quality in each bite.
A special shout-out to Chef David, whose creativity truly impressed us. The combinations, textures, and presentation of each course were thoughtful and beautifully executed — every dish looked stunning and tasted even better.
The service was just as outstanding. Our server Ashton was attentive, considerate, and very detail-oriented, making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout the meal.
We were celebrating our friend’s birthday, and the whole evening felt joyful and relaxed. We all had such a great time enjoying the food and chatting together. It was a wonderful night, and we’d definitely come back again!

This was the first time eating here for me and the family. My oldest son, Andy, apparently knows the Owner’s gf so he suggested we try it out. Great suggestion!
The restaurant itself isn’t too big. It’s a very modern, contemporary spot with a chill vibe in a good part of town. It’s next door to Lakewood Church.
The food was very good. Everything we ordered came out in a timely manner and was delicious. The presentation was clean and displayed well. I didn’t even want to eat it because it all looked like art! I’m glad I did though The Owner was very nice, he stopped by to check on us a couple of times and even gave us a free appetizer which was excellent and also very cool of him.
As if that wasn’t enough, when we ordered dessert he added in a free one which isn’t on the menu yet. They were as well… all gone within minutes of hitting our table!
This spot was definitely a hit with the family, even my two young ones and they’re really picky eaters. Even my Mom, who is also hard to please, told the Owner it was very good and we’ll be back She never says that to anyone, so that was definitely a shocker to hear.
If you’re looking for a good, family friendly sushi spot, I’d definitely give Aburi a try. I promise you won’t be disappointed

Went to Aburi Sushi for a quick bite after work. I sat at the bar and ordered the Yakiniku, which is a thinly sliced ribeye. The steak was cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with the yuzu salad. Annemarie the bartender was also very attentive and makes a great martini! Even the owner, Pat, came by a few times to greet and make sure everything was okay. I will definitely come back and make this a weekly staple!

Absolutely incredible. The yakiniku was insanely delicious, so tender it literally melted in my mouth and honestly made my mouth feel like it was in heaven. The truffle fries were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor, and the scallop foie gras was pure, next-level indulgence. Every bite felt special. Can’t wait to come back!

Decided to come by with friends to give the place a try from recommendation and had a really good time, mainly because Ashley took great care of us. She was super nice and gave us awesome drink recommendations. We tried a bunch of nigiri salmon, hamachi, foie gras scallop and everything tasted fresh and really good including the truffle fries. The ramen was solid and comforting, and the bread pudding for dessert was so good, definitely worth getting. Overall just a great experience with good food, good drinks, and great service. Would 100% come back.

Aburi Sushi – has one of highest quality fish in all of Houston. better than all the overly commercialized spots.
– Kama toro – melt in your mouth wagyu like TUNA. so buttery. so yum.
– Truffle fries – disgustingly delicious.
– Chicken satay – juicy and perfectly seasoned.
– King Ora salmon belly – usually my favorite nigiri (ask for Aburi style) and loveee this with a bit of Thai chili or togarashi but THEY made me love their chutoro more than my go-to.
– Chu toro – creamy. buttery. disappears in your mouth. MUST HAVE.
– Salmon ikura donburi – love this with their chili oil and pickled wasabi or solo with their togarashi.
– Iris roll – phenomenal, once again with the chutoro and CRUNCHY garlic.
– Shima aji – lemon caper and olive heaven. citrusy and perfect white fish option.
– Could not recommend this place enough!!!

Celebrated my best friend’s birthday at Aburi Sushi, and it was absolutely amazing! I told Chef David in advance about the occasion and budget, and he created a personalized omakase menu just for us. The dishes were stunning, the ingredients super fresh, and the flavors outstanding. Service was also very attentive and thoughtful. A perfect spot for a special celebration!
