The braised beef noodle soup was excellent and very filling. I was very hungry and left overly full! The beef, noodles, broth = all great!

Addiction at its finest. I tried Jacks Bao as a native San Francisco girl because I miss dumplings and the like. Currently South County does not have a lot of options for amazing Street style Food. I am in love. I used to have an aversion to all things hot. Then i tried the Red Chili Oil WonTon. Oh my god. I get this with one of the soups. I have had the braised beef and the spicy pork. Both are out of this world. I’d eat this every single day if I could. I order it through DoorDash with my Dash Pass and it works out fairly economical for lunch. They have a 22 lunch special that has fried wonton and spicy pork soup and a soda. It works out great for me. My only wish is that they would put a few more dimsum dishes on the menu. Really amazing. So Excited that they are in Aptos. They are closed today and I am anxiously awaiting tomorrow.

Was excited to see this Bao place open. Had high expectations, maybe too high?
Ordered Steamed Pork Bao (3 pieces). They were average, I’ve had better from 7/11 in Japan.
Ordered Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings), no black vinegar and they serve them without a spoon! Never saw that before, I lost my soup from a few of them before asking for a spoon and them giving me a shovel sized spoon. They tasted OK, very thin wrappers so they broke easily.
Doesn’t feel authentic to me. For my money (not cheap) I’ll drive to Special Noodle in Santa Cruz.

My husband and I tried Jack’s for the first time based on a recommdation from a friend. We did take away and very much enjoyed our dinner. The vegetarian options were delicious, the bao light and not sticky with plenty of flavorful filling.
We will definitely be back!

My whole family (including my picky toddler) loves this place. We are so happy it’s reopened. Our favorites are the pork baos (great for kids), the chili oil wantons, the spicy pork noodle soup, and the braised beef noodle soup.

I’m really glad a new Chinese place has opened in Santa Cruz. I ordered the wonton soup, which was good. If I was to nitpick I would say the broth was slightly salty, but looking forward to coming back and trying the XLB and other dishes.

My overall experience was wonderful. The staff is absolutely amazing and attentive. The Bao was so soft and flavorful. You can feel the love cooked in every item. Definitely a go to for the upcoming rainy and cold season.

Service was great, the server she was very polite and courteous as well as knowledgable and helped also explain the specials + drinks well. Food was presented and served in a very attractive way. Had the dinner special which included Fried Wontons + Spicy Ground Pork Noodle Soup & drink of choice. Very tasty and good mix of flavors, definitely a lot of food just for one person might even be able to share between two people. Will be back to try other dishes for sure!

I tried the new Aptos restaurant Jack’s Bao tonight. I don’t really do restaurant reviews, but after hearing mixed reviews, I felt compelled to let ya’ll know I thought it was really good. I ordered the Lions mane meatball soup and 3 pork bao buns. My daughter ordered the jasmine milk tea too. Everything was excellent. I will definitely go back & you should too. Friendly service as well. Super yum. Happy we have a new, delicious choice.
