Had heard good things about this place from 2 people I know so I got a takeout. So glad I did not drive over there with the reviews on the unsafeness of the location. No utensils, sauces, fortune cookie. Wanted to try the Moo Shu Pork cant get it anywhere like I had in a New York. Pancakes were so thin it would not even hold anything. That was the 1st bad sign. The fried rice I got with it was awful dry and bland. The vegetables and pork were good but the sauce was lacking something. So disappointed would not try anything else. Wish I looked more thoroughly at the reviews.

Decided to get some Chinese to go one Saturday and wanted to try China Taste again after years of going elsewhere.
Ordered kung pao chicken, shrimp and veg, plus egg drop soup. The KP chicken was good – nicely cooked, great sauce, brocolli done just how i like it. The best thing was it had some HEAT to it. So many places don’t make it spicy at all. The shrimp and veg very good too, a nice mix and the veg cooked correctly. The soup hit the spot – a good bit of egg and not watery at all.
The lady who owns it is so nice.

Best Chinese in town! The food was great, very fairly priced, and the staff were super friendly. $9.50 for a lunch special that was loaded with food- can’t beat it! Don’t be put off by the comments about the parking lot being unsafe- it’s not that bad. They have signs up asking people not to hang around and while there are homeless that gather in the area they kept to themselves and I didn’t feel unsafe. Don’t fault this spot for something they can’t control and miss out on great food!

This was very, very good!! Maybe the best Chinese take out I’ve ever had. This will be our new go-to. We ordered via uber eats and it came quicker than expected.

I’m crowning China Taste my favorite American Chinese restaurant in Asheville. My order is always prepared correctly, the folks who work here are kind, their food is very tasty, the portion sizes are plentiful and their prices are reasonable!
A few of my go-to orders include: Crispy Scallion Chicken, Chow Mei Fun, Szechuan Wontons, Crabmeat Rolls, and Chicken on Sticks (pro tip: you can make some yummy sandwiches out of Chicken on Sticks. Kewpie, broccoli/kale slaw, avocado, a little sweet soy sauce—get creative, thank me later.). They don’t drown their Crispy Scallion Chicken, and similar dishes, in the sauce like some places I’ve experienced in the past. I appreciate and respect a solid sauce to crispy chicken ratio. Their Chow Mei Fun hits the spot when I’m in the mood to take soft, airy vermicelli rice noodles with a little curry to the face. The wonton soup comes with those good fried wonton strips, not the dense/stale/flavorless oyster cracker nibblets I’ve gotten at some places.
Through and through their dishes are delicious. I see an attention to detail and consistency with their cooking that’s made me a fan. On top of it all they offer online ordering and they’re open 6 days a week until 10pm. I always do pick-up and my order has always been ready quick. Yeah, the parking lot’s…a vibe sometimes, but whatever. I’ve never been harassed by anyone that’s hanging around out there, but hey, CT also offers delivery if you’d prefer.
I wish you nothing but longterm success, China Taste. Thank you for making delicious food, especially when I’m too tired to cook. I’m glad we’re in the neighborhood together.

I’ve lived all across the country and one thing I have come to discover. Authentic Chinese food doesn’t exist in Asheville NC. You can cross into SC or GA or TN and get great Chinese cuisine.

Didn’t even get to my food. When I went to pick it up I pulled into the parking lot and there was a very large amount of homeless people standing in front of the building next to this one, when my boyfriend parked a stranger came up to our vehicle, stood in front of us and proceeded to light and smoke an unknown substance on foil DIRECTLY in front of my vehicle. My boyfriend immediately left and didn’t even get out to pick up our order. Highly do not recommend

Service was fast and the restaurant has a rather ingenious pass-through window to keep everyone safe. A full-sized glass plate cordons off the kitchen from the public.
Cards accepted, cash preferred.
