My wife and I went here for a date night, and this is hands down my new favorite sushi spot in South Jersey.
The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, and relaxed — perfect for a casual date or a night out. They also have a hibachi grill (we didn’t do it this time), which makes it versatile if you’re going with a group.
But the real differentiator is the quality.
I’ve spent significant time in Japan (both during my Navy years and professionally), and I’m picky about sushi. A lot of places around here feel like “buffet sushi without the buffet” — the fish looks tired, the cuts are uneven, and the presentation feels mass-produced.
Not here.
The fish was fresh, clean, properly cut, and beautifully presented. You can tell immediately when a kitchen respects the product — and this one does. The rice was right, the balance was right, and nothing felt rushed or sloppy.
Pricing was very reasonable for the quality we received, which made it even better.
If you care about real sushi quality and not just big rolls drowned in sauce, this place delivers.
We’ll absolutely be back.

The food was incredible. The hibachi chef was incredible, and he was very positive and fun. However I am giving one star because the waitress was the rudest person I have literally ever experienced in margate. I have gone to this restaurant multiple times and this waitress has constantly been an issue with being rude, short, and unprofessional. There was a group of at least 13 kids across from me trying to figure out a $500 hibachi bill and the waitresses refused to split it. Fair. However, what bothered me was that the waitresses took pictures of the poor kids as they tried to figure out their issue. She literally was videoing them which in my opinion is NEVER ok. Along with her horrible service, she was inappropriate and videoed children. I was not able to catch her name but I assume she has multiple other bad reviews as she has been miserable and rude everytime I’ve eaten here. Love miyako but really hope they train their servers to have decency. Disappointing.

HORRIBLE!!!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! Made a reservation for 6pm for 2 people. Wasn’t greeted for 10 minutes. Finally sat, no one came up to us for another 20 minutes before we finally left. During our wait, it was like a daycare. Kids running around like animals screaming. Completely understaffed. Absolutely ridiculous

My family and I had a fabulous time at Miyako Restaurant, its our tradition here to celebrate kids birthdays. Hibachi experience was not only delicious but also wonderfully entertaining. The quality of the food is exceptional as always. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the chefs at Miyako for creating such a memorable evening for us.

Went here around 5pish, wasn’t busy. We were seated right away at a regular table(non hibachi). Service was good, drinks were great! Get the grapefruit blossom drink…yum. Food was good we had dumplings and sushi. Total bill was $90 for 4 alcoholic drinks(2 each), 2 sushi rolls each and dumpling appetizer.

This is the best sushi within a pretty large radius. The quality, selection, and service were amazing. Even though it’s over a 30 min drive, it’s my go-to sushi spot!

Absolutely LOVE Miyako! Whether you’re dining in or taking out, you will not be disappointed! The rolls are always so fresh and yummy and not as expensive as others! Whether eating at the raw bar or the Hibachi the atmosphere is also enjoyable.))
