What is Sando? Sando is the Japanese shortened English for Sandwich. Sando is a light and enjoyable menu that Japanese people like to eat. It is a bit different than your normal everyday sandwich which has fresh vegatables, meats, and or seafood. The most important part of Sando is the milk bread (shokupan). The bread joins with the various ingredients in a simple and smooth manner, where you can enjoy and taste the natural flavor of each topping. Once you’ve tasted Sando you will definitely become addicted to it. I hope from now on, through me, you can taste and feel the charm of Sando.

BEST sushi I’ve had in Austin so far. Quality AND quantity of fish, fish and rice ratio, reasonable pricing, variety of bowls/plates – it is everything you look for in good sushi/sandos. I am most definitely coming back. I’ve tried many many Japanese places and Choo Sando left me MELTING in my chair. considering the amount of fish in the bowls/sandos the price is VERY reasonable. My salmon uni bowl was $46 but it came with miso, a LOT of uni and salmon belly and was ALSO good quality. Even the presentation is just perfect. The service too. I’m very HAPPY. Get here EARLY because they will sell out.

I pre-ordered the Ichiban Sushi Box and a strawberry sando for lunch and they were so so good! Even though it’s technically just take-out, you can tell that there is still a lot of thought that goes into the food. The sushi was very fresh and delicious and the sando was so light and fluffy. I’ll absolutely get them again when I’m back in the area!

Chef Choo offers grab-and-go sushi boxes that are as beautiful as they are delicious—honestly, they could be served at any fine Japanese dining establishment. The sushi is always fresh, generously cut, and reasonably priced . They also offer Japanese sandos (sandwiches) for those who prefer something other than sushi.

The only downside is the wait—you’ll likely need to line up even on weekdays. We usually arrive about 15 minutes before opening since the shop is quite small, with just one narrow line for pickup and a single checkout. That said, once you’re inside, the line moves fairly quickly.

All in all, we always enjoy the food here and love coming back—especially when we plan ahead and prepare for the wait!

I was missing Japan and craving an egg sando. The egg sando was pure perfection, and the sushi was immaculate. Everything is prepared with real care and precision. We’ve already gone back almost every weekend this past month. I order something different each time, and it’s always flawless. 100/10. Hands down, the best sushi in Austin. It’s so good you guys

Amazing quality and amazing price. If I live closer I would come here every day. Please be there early, I arrive when they open and there were 20-30 people in line already. Took me about 30 minutes to get in but still so many variety left to choose from.

The fruit sando was absolutely amazing – so fluffy, light, and not too sweet, with just the right hint of fruit acidity. We also got the 10-piece Itamae sushi box and every piece was super fresh and flavorful. You can really taste the quality in every bite, and the presentation was beautiful. I seriously hope they open a location in Houston because now I’m scared I’ll be driving all the way back to Austin just for this!

The sushi is amongst the best and freshest I’ve had in Austin. The chirashi bowl and 10 piece sushi box are my personal favorites. The sandos are a delight as well — perfectly soft and fluffy bread. The strawberry and mango is my favorite among the sandos. Sushi is a luxury meal given the cost, but the variety and quality of ingredients make it well worth it here. This is my favorite place to come to as a special reward treat as others have said, items do tend to sell out, so if you aren’t preordering, I’d recommend arriving around opening time or at least before 11:30am.
