The apple fritters are huge, crunchy on the outside, soft inside, nice glaze. The sour cream donut was nice and light and fresh tasting. But….COME ON with the chocolate frosting! It’s like they ran out of frosting and was trying to make it last. The double chocolate donut and the chocolate donut with sprinkles both have much more frosting than the regular cake donut. WHY?!?!?!?!
My dog likes the dog treat though. $9 for all 4 isn’t bad at all.

Soooo…. I recently had to have foot surgery. And the only thing that’s been making me happy is trying different places around the city! I’ve been using my down time to try hidden gems I wouldn’t normally be close to. This bakery was so good we ended up stopping in twice in one day. Tried the donuts, the chocolate chip cookies and a carrot cake cupcake. Everything was great. The staff in the morning as well as the afternoon were both pleasant and friendly. Cute little bakery. Very nostalgic to be inside.

Outstanding place. Feels like a “real” bakery unlike the zoo at the bottom of the hill. Quantities are low , fresh everyday, so know that and get here early. Nicest people around.

I stopped in on my break for 1 dozen doughnuts, and now I’m mad at myself for not getting an extra dozen! They were gone so fast I couldn’t even get a picture! Very fresh! Best doughnuts I’ve had in a long time.

Small family owned bakery where everything is made from scratch. I tried the red velvet cake, eclair, chocolate brownie, and peanut butter brownie. It was a pretty good value for the amount you get. I keep comparing this place to Oakmont Bakery since it’s quite close. Definitely a much smaller selection, but I saved $5 on the cake. Didn’t save much in the pastries.
They have a half off section that I recommend you take advantage of. The quality is great there as well. The cake wasn’t a big hit. The icing is very sweet, the filling doesn’t taste very cream cheese like, and the batter was quite flavorless. Some else called it “plasticy.” Eclair was a good size and the filling was great. Filled well, good flavor, icing is perfect. Recommend getting that.
Brownies were okay. Didn’t have much flavor. While I typically enjoy peanut butter, I preferred the regular to the PB brownie. Didn’t have a string flavor but both were fudgey.
Overall, I’d still return here from time to time just to try the Napoleon, pies, pepperoni rolls, pineapple upside down cake, donuts, and other goods. However, my go to bakery is still Oakmont.

Everything was well made. The carrot cake was more of a spice cake. The icing on the black and white cookie was still soft.

This is by far the best place to get doughnuts in the Pittsburgh area. WAY better than Oakmont bakery- don’t waste your time there. Their apple fritters and croughnuts are some of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my life. You can tell they use high-quality, real ingredients and make everything fresh. The staff are always working hard and very friendly.

Stopped in for coffee & donuts bc I was working nearby – The ladies were all very helpful & cheery, & patient as it was my first visit. Donuts were delicious, & I even got a doggy safe cupcake to being home for my pup! Would definitely stop back if I’m ever in the area!

I’m not a donut person, but my husband and kids prefer Stockleins over any other bakery.

I come here for the sticky buns (and doughnuts). Absolutely love them❤️ Also asked them for a special order cake for my husband’s birthday, and they did an awesome job! I gave them a photo, which they printed onto the cake, and did the decorating exactly as I asked. They are my go to bakery!
