I went there for a quick bite to eat and I was pleasantly surprised. If you have eaten at other Tacos El Cuñado, you know that not all of them are “created” equally. Each one has a slightly different atmosphere and the food presentation and taste can vary. I really enjoyed my simple meal and the music made for a nice ambiance. The host/waiter was very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant was clean and warm. I would recommend this taco place.

I wanted to love this place, especially it being located close to our home.
This is the third time I have been disappointed with their food.
Most recent is today. My husband picked up take out, not even a 4 min drive home, food is cold! Rice is cold AND hard, every bite of rice, not one soft grain.
A few visits ago. Again, husband and I order dinner take out, he comes home, we sit down and open the containers and a rancid rotten smell comes out. We ordered two chicken enchiladas dinner and an order of chicken taco dinner. I took a bite and instantly had to spit it out! Definitely tasted spoiled! I immediately called to make the complaint and the lady there , in other words called us liars and in the background spoke with the cook and asked him how old the chicken was…that right there should’ve been a big NO on continuing to eat there..but we gave it another chance, with another disappointment. My husband went back with our food because the lady asked us to bring it back so she could smell it. In the end, we received a new order of food.
It sucks that the food at this location isn’t living up to other location we have visited.

Never again I will order from here. My tamale was hard as a rock. The rice was hard and cold. The beans taster spoiled. Noone even ate there food. My youngest daughter missed two days of school from non stop vomiting. Worse restaurant Ive ever had from a tacos el cunado

Went for Taco Tuesday $3 deal. Wasn’t too busy when I went but service was fast and tacos came very quickly with a side of chips and salsa. Food was hot and fresh, and the meat wasn’t skimped on! The staff were very nice and attentive.

So I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito yesterday with bacon, avocado, cheese, and sour cream. And I’ve gotta say that was like the absolute best breakfast burrito I’ve eaten in grand rapids! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful too!

The place was kinda dead for 6pm on a weeknight, but I’m glad they were open. One of the better Mexican food places I’ve been to in GR. Great portion sizes, friendly staff, quick food and service.
They kept cautioning me that the food was spicy, but for my Texas raised mouth, it was barely peppery, not what I’d call spicy at all. (Midwestern mouths might differ!)
I had the Chicken a la Mexicana, and a side of guac. Asked for extra veggies. They delivered on all fronts! I couldn’t finish it, though I ate more than I probably should have. Still enough for leftovers, that’s for sure!
If you’re in the area, and you like your food served on plates and not Styrofoam and tin foil (why do so many of the restaurants around here not use plates?), definitely drop in to this hidden gem!

Got two burrito bowls. At first glance it looks amazing but the steak tastes like it was left over taco meat thats days old (sooooo bad) I threw it away. I won’t be eating here ever again. Bridge st El Cunado is a million times better.

Great restaurant. We’ve eaten here at least once a week since they opened and the food is consistently great. They have great vegetarian options! The service is timely and the staff are kind. It’s a great option for eating in or take out. The prices are good for the large portions you get. We’re so glad to have this location in our neighborhood!

My first time at this location. I ordered the lunch Chicken Quesadillas and they did not disappoint. The chicken was very flavorful. The red and green sauce was just the right condiment to enhance the already great flavors. The rice was not very flavorful. The staff there was very friendly and welcoming. I’ve eaten at four other locations and this location for me was the best by far. And the service was definitely the best out of all the locations that I’ve eaten at. I will definitely be going back. The Chicken Quesadillas will be my number one choice but I will try other items. I like that they have a large dining room area to sit down and eat. I was impressed that an older gentleman went around to a couple of the tables to ask diners how therir food was. Good job tacos El cuñado 54th Street!!! Go check them out!
