The best setting for breakfast, lunch or supper. Breakfast was excellent and the service is even better. It’s a “destination” restaurant so make it your destination.

Best patio and view in all of Fargo/Moorhead hands down. The service inside is actually pretty decent compared to restaurants of the past in the location. On course beverage service is extremely hit or miss and mostly miss. Most of the cart girls in the past year or two drive by at a distance at full speed and when you try to wave them down they just wave back (if that) and keep driving. Most randomly drive around the course skipping multiple holes at a time. Heres’s a tip – drive the course in reverse order starting on #18 – drive up to each group, stop, smile, ask how the day is going and if anyone is thirsty. I guarantee sales would increase by 1000% and for added tip $ throw in a witty comment. Have given up on having a beer while playing.

The food – oof. Not sure where to even start. The pizza is pretty decent, but outside of that I’m not sure what they are serving. The pulled pork is essentially greasy sauce with bits of meat floating in it. What they claim is brisket appears to be thinly sliced horse meat. They have cold sandwiches in the fridge for a quick bite. $5.50 gets you one extremely thin slice of deli meat, one thin piece of cheese, and one slice of lettuce between two pieces of white bread. For that price is it really that hard to at least put some meat on a sandwich? The burgers have vastly improved and are now decently edible. The Maui sauce that they try to put on everything is putrid.

The previous restaurant (Divots) actually had some really decent food but sub-par service. The new place is the complete opposite. Not surprising though as it is ran by the same people as the Sidestreet in downtown Fargo. Sidesteet was one of the best kept secrets when it came to delicious food in downtown Fargo. A few years ago they changed management, cooks, etc, and went from a great place to eat to absolutely awful.

Edgewood Golf Course is one of the most beautiful and most played courses in the state of ND. The restaurant has a captive audience due to the somewhat remote location with hundreds of golfers each day passing through – yet the restaurant is never busy all summer long. Hmmmmmmm………

I live within easy walking distance of Edgewood so I really am pulling for the success of Edgewood Tavern…. but the food we had tonight left me wondering if a second trip would be worth it. The sliced brisket in the brisket sandwich was chewy and over sauced so much that the bun was soggy. And they served it with shredded lettuce on a plain bun (one about the size of a McDonald’s cheeseburger). A bbq brisket sandwich with shredded lettuce? A bit underwhelming for $12. My wife had the BLT (on Texas Toast) said it was just ok, again $12. Wait staff was very nice, beer was cold. Maybe the burgers and pizza are better?
