Avoid this place at all costs! I really enjoy Firehouse, but this location does not do good business or do right by their customers. I placed an online order in 12/25 and went to pick the order up in the store. The worker told me they never received the order, but l had an online order confirmation and the funds were debited from my account. The worker was rude and told me they could make the order, but they would charge me again.. Really??!! I left the store and immediately contacted the online customer service. They took the order information and screen shots of the online order confirmation and they said they were passing the information along to the store manager. I NEVER heard back from anyone. I called the store and asked for the manager and left my contact information and l NEVER heard back. It is 2/26 and l have not heard back from anyone. Needless to say, l will NEVER return to this location or recommend anyone to eat/order here. To the manager of this location, please do better. If this happened to you, you would expect a timely response from management and resolution.

Two sandwiches for takeaway.
Turkey bacon ranch and brisket. Both on wheat.
Store offers white or wheat bread and a pickle spear with a sandwich in a takeaway carton.

Food was warm not hot. Sandwiches were amply filled with meat and lettuce/onions etc

Tasty but very drippy almost wet.
$20 for two seven inch subs.
Did not do the combo (no chips/drink).

Server was polite. Store was empty. Seemed relatively relaxed. At least four people working at 5pm.

Decent for a change of pace. All in all OK.

Loyal customer for years, but this recent experience at the Huntersville Gilead Road Firehouse Subs was extremely disappointing.

My husband arrived to pick up my paid online order at 10:12 a.m., which was scheduled for 9:55 a.m. The employee insisted the order wouldn’t be ready until 9:55 a.m., even though that time had already passed and matched the receipt. She then told him his “A” doesn’t listen to her, became visibly agitated, said she was sick, told him she “didn’t have time for this “S”, using profanity in front of other customers.

This behavior was unprofessional, confusing, and unacceptable. We reported the incident to corporate and expect appropriate action. Customers should be treated with respect at all times.

I ordered the Thanksgiving sub with a side of gravy. I had this at another location and it was great. At this location, the “gravy” was just water. I’m not exaggerating. They literally just put cold water in a gravy cup and charged me a $1 for that. If they’re out of gravy, then why not just say that instead of perpetrating this fraud? Then, there was a hair in my food. I had to throw the whole, disgusting meal away.

Fast, friendly service. The subs do not lack filling, either. If you are sharing a sandwich, they will split it for you and put in a separate basket. That’s a nice touch to their service. The Coca-Cola 300 flavors drink machine needs some work. The drinks did not taste very good, lacked flavor.

This is not a Vegetarian friendly restaurant, but I’m reviewing the sub that I ate. This is a meat place, and besides the Build Your Own option there is only one vegetarian item on the menu. I ordered the pre-suggested veggie without cheddar or Monterrey Jack cheese. My husband got the Hook and Ladder. We order chips and a chocolate chip cookie on the side. I wasn’t expecting the sub to be good, as usually in these sub places veggie sandwiches are bad. My sub was delicious. I was so pleasantly surprised when I took the first bite, it was wonderful, creamy dressing, rich in flavors, fresh bread, well made veggies. My husband liked his H&L and the cookie.

Heather took our order and she was very helpful. The whole staff was in a great mood.

There is lots of parking at the front of the plaza.

We will be back.

This was an interesting experience. First time to the place. I walked in, and there’s a white guy Aiden and a heavyset African-American woman behind the counter. The black woman starts talking about how white people are too friendly and she doesn’t like it, then her coworker says how are we supposed to behave? And she goes I don’t know , but you guys are too friendly I mean disgustingly friendly. I’ve got to tell you something, in this day and age, that was a huge turn off especially as somebody who’s actually white. I had a feeling she wasn’t crazy about white people because when she handed me my sandwich, she turned around 180°, handed me my sandwich without even looking at me, I said thank you, and she just walked away. I was disgusted by her behavior. If she doesn’t like it, maybe she should work in a black owned business because she has no right to be in an environment like that where she’s dealing with multiple races of people. How dare fire house hire somebody like that. And if you ask AIDEN HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHO SHE IS IN THE CONVERSATION HE HAD RIGHT IN FRONT OF A CUSTOMER. I 110% WILL NOT BE BACK.

Pickup order. Wasn’t greeted when I walked in. Stood patiently and quietly while other people were being helped. Waited about 15 minutes until the guy making sandwiches put something in a bag and put that bag on top of the counter. No name called or eye contact made even though I was the only person waiting for pickup. Walked over, looked at the ticket, took my sandwiches and left. Got home, opened one up to find that they are tiny, dinky, little, poorly made, sad excuses of an Italian sandwich. Meat barely fits the entire bread loaf, not to mention the size is laughable for charging over $12. Will never be going back. Good luck with your business, Firehouse . I’ll give it less than a year before someone else replaced your poorly run business.

*P.S. see the photo attached for a size comparison of the Medium sandwich. They charge over $12 for this thing. Smh.

My sub was made completely wrong and the manger I spoke to admitted that the cashier entered it wrong and just hung up on me. She did not offer to correct the order or refund it.

UPDATE: no one has reached out regarding the roaches at my visit. But the owner of this location has replied to “positive reviews” that are dated 3 weeks ago, the same timeframe as my families cockroach experience at the restaurant. Apparently a guest experience with pests running the store is not reply or reach out worthy.

While having lunch with my family in firehouse, a cockroach was strolling across the floor. No employee seemed concerned that every guest in the dining area was standing up watching it roam. I finally went up to the people talking behind the counters and let them know. A young teen came out and tried to catch it, when it was not catchable the teen began to stomp on it to kill it. I get it but also we are all eating and have been observing this cockroach for about 10 minutes now. I complained to the company about the cockroaches, not ONE representative of this company reached out to me. I guess cockroaches are acceptable in a food setting. I won’t be back after this. Freaking gross and it’s unacceptable that no one reached out to me to ask about my experience at their restaurant. Kinda crappy business practice. It sucks because dang, I love me some firehouse subs. But be warned! There are absolutely cockroaches running in that building.
