I took my family here for the Holiday Nights dinner and it was great! The atmosphere was amazing and interactive entertainment that adults and children will enjoy. The tickets were pricey for the meal you received but it was good and you are paying for the experience and memories. I do think it was worth it and will be going there again. Because this was a special event I cannot offer an opinion on their daily menu but will stop in sometime and try it. Once I do I will update this review.

The moment I walked in, I felt like I stepped back in time, I love the energy, the staff were soooo nice and she seemed like she liked her job.. she was always smiling and even let me switch tables.. the wait was only like 8 minutes or so, the food was good.. I ordered the cold meat with cheese plate and fried sweet potatoes.. I wanted to order something I knew was more historically accurate.. the water was brung out in a clay pitcher MADE THERE!! AH, what a great atmosphere, id definitely go again

Cool authentic tavern that is located right in the heart of the village. I love that it was only lit by candles, the roaring fire going, and the light coming in from outside.
The menu was very authentic as well, with stewed rabbit and beef pasties. We were first served some bread, jam, pickles and butter which was a nice starter. I then got the salmon croquette’s, and my friend got the beef pasty. Both items were great.
The servers are all dressed up in 1800s clothing, and play the part well, but I did think that they were a bit rude.

I was really looking forward to this but let’s start with them saying line up starts at 7:30 and then having us outside in 17 degree weather for 30+ minutes. Then when we got to the host stand inside the maanger, Kimberly I want to say her name was, told me they only had me down for 1 ticket. I showed her my phone and both tickets and she had us move to the side as she finished seating everyone else that was behind us and tried to find room for us. I was annoyed but calm. Then she asked for my tickets again and sent someone to check for seats for us again. Waited patiently. Only for her to then ask for our tickets again. I felt disrespected and defensive at this point! Instantly made me never want to come there again. I didn’t spend $120 per ticket for the holiday season to be treated as if my tickets on my phone were not real or were being questioned. Instantly put a bad taste in my mouth. We won’t be back. That was our 1st and last visit. Awful experience and first impression. Then we get seated and clearly the people we were sat with didn’t want us there. It was NOT family friendly at all and the manager was awful!!! Pissed I wasted so much money on a subpar experience. Could have had equivalent service at McDonald’s. Very unwelcoming atmosphere. 0 out of 10 do NOT recommend!

Step back in time—and don’t skip the rabbit stew ️
Tucked inside the historic wonderland of Greenfield Village at the Henry Ford Museum, the Eagle Tavern is more than just a place to eat—it’s a full-on time travel experience.
From the moment you walk in, you feel like a weary 1800s traveler stopping in for a hot meal and a brief escape from the dusty trail. The staff is in period attire, the decor is candlelit and rustic, and even the menu sticks to the era—no fries or fountain drinks here.
We had the rabbit stew, which was hearty and slightly sweet—unexpected, but actually pretty good. The homemade breads and fresh-churned butter were fantastic, the kind of simple comfort food that makes you want to start a bread journal.
If you’re visiting the park, definitely stop in. It’s the kind of place that makes history feel alive—and delicious.

Visited for a wedding reception. The food arrived in courses and looked very inviting and well done. The tempeture and taste did not measure up to the appearance which was outstanding. It was good but not excellent but it was a good sized party all eating at the same time. The service was above and beyond. Highly recommend these people – they have a handle on how to treat guests. The building was awesome. I had Grok give me the history and cant say enough about how they preserved it and the interior decorations. Good job to whomever keeps up with it.

The Eagle Tavern is something special I feel . It definitely takes you back to a simpler time .. where the menu will consist of food that’s in season and readily available from the area. I.E roast pork (which I got and was amazing ) Fish , roasted chicken various root vegetables and nice homemade breads and desserts. Staff is dressed to period which dates around the 1850’s or so and are very welcoming and accommodating. You sit at tables with other families like a big dining hall. Though you can get a table for yourselves if you have a big enough party . We just had three in ours so we were sat with another party of three and it was nice to meet and eat with other people and hear their stories . They do have a kids menu it is limited though !! Chicken fingers , PB&J and Mac and cheese. My son got chicken fingers and it came with orange slice’s and roasted potato wedges. Overall we had a great experience and the atmosphere sights and sounds does kinda take you back to a simpler slower time which I enjoyed . Must visit if you plan on a trip to greenfield village . Expect to wait around a half hour or so. Not sure if that’s the average but it was pretty busy the day we went . Definitely will be going back if we go back to greenfield village.

From the moment of entry, the atmosphere achieved a rare feat of temporal displacement, making the experience feel less like a meal and more like a historical journey. The energy was vibrant and the attention to period detail was exceptional.
The service, in particular, elevated the visit. The staff were remarkably warm and attentive, with our server maintaining a genuine, infectious smile that demonstrated true passion for her role. Her willingness to accommodate a table switch only added to the welcoming feel.
After a negligible eight-minute wait, the meal commenced. I consciously chose items emphasizing historical accuracy—the cold meat and cheese platter, alongside the fried sweet potatoes—and the food proved to be excellent.
However, it was the small, authentic touches that transformed the setting: the water arrived in a clay pitcher crafted right on the premises, a detail that beautifully reinforced the authenticity of the experience. This remarkable atmosphere and dedication to immersion make this a destination I would enthusiastically return to.

#EagleTavern located in #GreenFieldVillage is a unique place to bend an elbow at the bar or enjoy a traditional inspired meal in their eating area. The servers and help staff wear period clothing, mid 19th Century like the tavern, and are very friendly and helpful in their service. There was a wait to be seated, but that was ok, we put our name on the list and the wait allowed us to chat with the host. Once seated my husband ordered a nice hot #AppleCider and I went with a traditional #CherryEffervescent beverage. Both very tasty. The meal comes with various “Relishes of the season” fresh baked breads, fresh churned butter, and house made pickles. I loved them. For mains we went with #RoastChicken
with Horseradish Sauce which was served with yummy roasted #Potatoes And lovely #Carrots cut rustically. A simple dish with great flavor, hearty, and filling. #beefStew was the other main, suggested by the server, which was an excellent recommendation. The stew was rich and had great depth of flavor. The stew was served with a great crusty sliced bread and the lovely Rustic Carrots. It was fun to enjoy the meal amongst community tables and to see the other patrons enjoying thier meal. The Eagle Tavern is definitely a must visit when visiting the Greenfield Village, part of the Henry Ford Complex. You do have to be a paying member to visit the Tavern but we just payed for a year membership for the museum and village and feel like we are supporting a good organization and can visit anytime we are in the area. #eagletaverngreenfieldvillage

Lots of good placed to eat in Greenfield Village but this is the best. We split the fish dinner with a Mixed Green salad with beats. The bread before the meal was a roll and cornbread mini muffin with fresh butter.
