The pancakes looked good but the quality of it is very very bad.. i never had a pancake in my life that crumbles everytime you go to cut it or pick it up.. the sausage links were very stale and hard on 1 side but the eggs and hashbrown were good! Thats why i give it 2 stars

The best philly cheese deluxe in the Eagan area! Food is cook to order and totally worth the wait. Server is friendly and accommodating. Interior decor filled with American diner nostalgia.

The best mom & pop place to eat. Some of the nicest people you could ever meet and the whole family helps out. I’ve brought many of my friends here and weather it’s been a breakfast or lunch item, they’re always impressed. Glad to stop back in agai soon!

Hovies is, & as long as the couple that runs the place is involved, always will be, the best place in Eagan to get food that tastes good for a decent price. She’s the friendly server, he’s the awesome cook, & together they run a restaurant loved by their regulars and newcomers alike. My personal favorites, The breakfast hash is second to none, or for lunch, you can’t go wrong with a burger and fries, but they have many classic American dishes to choose from.

Went in earlier today about 10 minutes after it was opening for the day. My girlfriend and I were the only ones there. Picked this spot on a whim since we were in the area and couldn’t have been happier with the choice we made. I had the bacon pancakes with eggs and links. Everything cooked just right, very classic breakfast. The gentleman working was extremely friendly and before we left he gave us biscuits and gravy (that isn’t even on the menu) free of charge. Great experience, great atmosphere, great food. Extremely pleased

We’ve lived in Eagan 15 years and only just discovered Hovies. Best diner we’ve found in all of the Twin Cities metro area and I can’t believe it’s in our town! First off, the service wasn’t just good, it was exceptional-the woman who served us was warm and welcoming. And the food! The omelette was stuffed with cheese. It was piping hot and the toast came out warm, too, with butter covering the toast (I hate cold toast with a squirt of liquid fat). The breakfast potatoes were fresh, perfectly crispy, and notable for the lack of rancid fat after taste that so many diners have on their potatoes. Also, the diner was CLEAN!! It was old, charming, but-and I can’t stress this enough-clean. The floor wasn’t sticky or slippery. The old sports memorabilia and pictures on the wall weren’t dusty or grimy. The condiments weren’t scummy. The salt and pepper shakers sparkled. And the bathroom, while also old, was very, very clean. Our new favorite Saturday morning outing!

Probably the best burger I’ve had. Great folks, classic atmosphere, very friendly service. Brought my grandma and her best friend here to get lunch like they always used to and it was well worth the drive. I can see why they’ve been a community staple for so long! Delicious.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Service was so friendly and top notch. Food was amazing. Makes me mad I ever went to Perkins. This is easily the best breakfast in Eagan if not the southern metro. Cannot recommend enough!

Easy parking. Across the street from Hy-Vee in a little strip mall By Napa auto parts and Wildcat’s Bar and Grill and Original mattress factory. Not busy. Greeted right away. Sit where you like. Served right away. Clean quiet family diner. I had the Sliced Steak and Eggs with toast and coffee. $17…The steak was savory tender and basted eggs were done just right. Attentive service Checked in on me a couple times To see if I needed anything and always kept my coffee cup full. They had a counter with The Wheel of Fortune the TV. Thanked me when I left. Overall very good will be back.
