i’m glad i gave this spot a shot 🙂 chinese-approved!
i was very surprised to see foo yung on the menu, a home cooked favorite among chinese locals but rarely seen on restaurant menus. this fluffy omelette packed with vegetables and shrimp, topped with an umami gravy brought me back home. the sweet & sour pork was also perfectly cooked.
do not expect overly friendly, in your face western service, but a nurturing & respectful presence of a (i assume) husband wife duo that will help quietly pack your leftovers & send you on your merry way with a filled stomach.

As a construction worker remodeling a restaurant just across the street (for 6 months!), I ate at China Town Restaurant at least 30x. I love this place! When you walk by you may not see anyone, but customers love to sit way back deep inside, as the artworks on the walls are impressive. The dishes are delicious and filling, both for taste and freshness. As a lifelong vegetarian, there are many options for me, but my favorite is Broccoli Tofu with rice noodles.
Boom!
Oh, and the restaurant we remodeled? Already out of business. Chinatown Restaurant shows the right way to run a restaurant: it’s the food!

Delicious food, try to come around 1130 to 3pm for their killer deal lunch special where you get your plate, with chowmein or rice, a salad and hot and sour soup for just under $11 or under $12 for shrimp dishes.
My favorite hot and sour soup I’ve had since my childhood!

First time here. Very impressed with the food. Not salty, not buried in onions or garlic. The vegetables were lightly cooked, fresh and flavorful. Decor was tasteful and clean. Service was friendly and pricing was fair. I wish they were in Napa where we live!spigot.
Second visit did not disappoint. This time we ate from the lunch menu. Reasonable prices, nice selection, good portions and pleasant service!

This is a gem!! The food was delicious. We had Cashew Chicken and Mongolian Beef with steamed rice. The Won Ton Soup was the best I’ve ever had. Not too salty with plenty of vegetables. My new favorite Chinese restaurant for sure!

When we walked in it was quiet but this was our advantage to get there before the rush! Food was amazing! Highly recommend the Szechuan Beef couples dinner. Yum!

Been coming here since theb90s. Never disappointed. I am not into the latest trends. They do their own cooking without hiring a team or already have it pre-made as others do. May it always stay where it is! The best for true authentic Chinese cuisine.

I ordered delivery and the ETA was about an hour. I’d say she showed up with my order in about 30 minutes. I can honestly say China Town Petaluma on Kentucky Street is one of THE BEST restaurants I’ve ever had. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. No filler foods like tons of veggies to make it weigh more. I ordered Sweet and Sour pork and it was 85% pork and 15% veggies. It was PERFECT. Same with the other dish I ordered. The Hot and Sour soup was to die for. I will ALWAYS order from here. – Michael B. in Petaluma
