Worst True Texas BBQ experience I’ve ever had. My wife and I are regulars at our local True Texas BBQ at 1488 and Tamina Rd. This location was terrible in comparison. We both ordered loaded cornbreads with pulled pork. Something we eat pretty frequently at the other location. We received plates literally dripping in oil. The pulled pork was garbage quality. It was essentially like they piled the pork trimmings on our plate, globs and globs of fat, what looked like tendons, and I think even a piece of skin. Several of the pieces of meat had a grayish color to them and had an odd smell as well. We didn’t eat most of our meat, which we always devour. I don’t think I’ll ever visit this location again. Very disappointing.

The brisket was good. Not great but good. And that is saying a lot coming from me. I am a bit of a BBQ snob. Brisket is the top of the bbq accomplishments. And True Texas Bbq at HEB on 242 does a good job. Like I said, not great but a solid brisket…. and when considering the price. It comes close to great. The ribs are good, but ribs are easy. The ribs were to expensive but good. If you are looking for the best Texas BBQ you may want to look elsewhere. But if you want a solid classic Texas BBQ experience that won’t break the bank and is close to home…. then True Texas BBQ at HEB on 242 is definitely worth giving a go.

I received a mountain of oil without a fork or napkins and the delivery took more than an hour. Terrible service. This is the first time I order food here and the last. You can’t imagine the pain in my stomach I’m feeling. I had no other option. I’m working, I had to eat.

The BBQ is very good and well priced. Portions are generous. It’s inside HEB, so not great for atmosphere (although perfect if you are combining it with your shopping trip), but excellent for takeout.

Elote bowl w brisket was AMAZING! Easy to order at kiosk, received order FAST and it was delicious. Toppings – pickled onions and cotija cheese added perfect touch.

This is the best bbq in town and for the cheapest price. We also love their bbq packs that you can purchase vacuum sealed in HEB to heat and eat later that week. We love all of the meat choices and all of the sides.

Put down fork and knife. You don’t need it You can’t eat with it anyway so you got to have hands unfortunately I didn’t like that but I was able to wash them off with water before I left the table this food is delicious so I think portions are small but this price fit the portion for sure five something I got a half a breast with a wing all the fixings. Be sweet barbecue sauce and not taste good to me it tasted kind of tangy . Or a new sauce just to make sure. Same thing only making this description because it helps. I would definitely return but the atmosphere is congested I ride a electric wheelchair so it was hard for me to get in and out of that small small place but I did make it work They were very helpful

Delicious BBQ at a great price. This BBQ spot is located in an HEB, serving good deals and great customer service. Doesn’t have a lot of the wider choices in other BBQ spots but if you are looking for a quick bite at a good price this is a great spot. They have weekly deals and also do Bingo every Thursday. Has a decent amount of indoor seating and some outside under the HEB rooftop as well.

Catering order for a work meeting. Food was neatly packaged and ready for pick up on time. Judging by the empty trays at the end of our lunch, I’d say it was enjoyed by all. Would definitely recommend for event or work catering.

The amount or serving was extremely small for the amount paid. It’s not that good and I’ve had better BBQ. The convenience in terms of location, would be ideal, but I will not return period.
