Asia Star Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in southern Monmouth County! They have an excellent variety of entrées from around the Asian continent, including Chinese, Japanese, and Thai. My partner and I dine in regularly. We often go in the late evening, and its often nice and quiet. The staff recognize us and they are always extremely friendly. The food is wonderful. We’ve tried a variety of dishes and have always enjoyed whatever we’ve gotten. I recommend the Singapore Mei Fun, Chicken Teriyaki, Wonton soup, and Gyoza. My partner recommends Pad Kee Mao, any sushi roll, and Tom Yum Soup. You can see the sushi chef at the counter within the dining room. They offer both simple and complex sushi rolls, all of which are extremely fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself is very clean, and it’s a very welcoming environment. We’re very thankful for Asia Star Cafe! I highly recommend it!

We went to this sushi place on Mother’s Day afternoon, around 1:50 pm.
The restaurant was almost empty. There were so many empty tables, so we chose to set at a booth that was next to a window.
But the waitress came and said that we needed 6 people to use the booth. Then the manager came and said the same thing. I replied that we won’t take long and you had so many empty tables and booths anyway. We just liked to sit next to the window. But he said it didn’t matter. You needed to have 6 people to use the booth.
So, we moved, although it was already past lunch hours and there were no other customers. In addition, there were still other booths that could sit six people available. So, I gave this restaurant a 2 stars for their inflexibility in serving customers.
I ordered the spider roll. The soft shell crab was crunchy. The food was good. So. I gave them 5 stars for the food.
One thing you need to be careful of. Many sushi restaurants provide customers with free green tea or free ice water. This place will give you nothing to drink. You will pay $3.99 or $4.99 for your pot of tea if you ask for hot tea. I just ordered a misu soup to go with my sushi roll.

Asia Star Cafe is a decent Chinese restaurant with slightly higher prices. The quality is a bit better than standard Chinese takeout. I do like it on occasion. I have never dined inside, but the inside does look nice. The service is good and the place is relatively clean. It is definitely worth checking out

We went on a Friday evening to try this Chinese restaurant. Overall a good experience.
1. We had Wonton soup. This was very good. Instead of the normal thick Wonton wrapper with just a little bit of pork, this soup had 4 dumplings that had a good amount of pork inside a thin rice wrapper. The broth was nice too.
2. Also had the Hot and Sour Soup. It was just okay. Could have been a little more spicy and had more ingredients.
3. The eggroll was good, especially for the price. They give you 2 large rolls for $4. Would have just need 1.
4. I had the Schezwan Duck. It was very good. Maybe it could have had a bit more sauce and be more spicy.
5. My spouse had General Tso’s Chicken. Very good.
6. Service was very good. The waiter was very attentive.
So I will come back here. Just need to ask for more spice next time.

Best Sushi place near the Jersey Shore Outlets! My daughter and I stopped here for lunch on our way to to the Jersey Shore Outlets. I was in the mood for sushi and she wanted General Tso’s Chicken. The place is very clean and the the service was excellent. For drinks, I ordered hot green tea and water. I had the Red Phoenix Roll – spicy tuna, salmon, white fish, yellowtail, seaweed salad (missing), crabmeat, pepper tuna and masago with special sauce (see photo). My daughter ordered the General Tso’s chicken which came with rice (see photo). We were very pleased with our meal. Everything was fresh and made to order. My daughter stated that every time we go shopping, she now wants to come here first. Thank you!

The service and atmosphere was great. The seats are comfortable, decorations are good and the lighting is just right. Staff was very helpful. The drinks are mainly just different teas but the two milk teas we tried were good. The food was very variable in taste though. The appetizer (beef with scallions) was delicious and had the best sauce. The Three Musketeers and Beauties was good other than the scallops, however the rest of the tables food was mediocre to plain bad. The mango chicken was the most tasteless thing I’ve ever tasted in my life. Overall other than the chicken, the restaurant was fine.
