This place was absolutely amazing. We’re staying close by and found this place less than 10 minutes away. The moment we arrived we were greeted by Tania y Jorge. They were absolutely amazing. The food is a good size portion. The taste is fresh and the food didn’t take too long to come out. This spot was perfect for our dinner plans. If you’re in the area I would recommend you have some good and authentic Mexican Food.

If you want to be over-charged, this is the place to go. The food was just okay, nothing special. I definitely would not recommend it.

2 chicken chimichanga meals ($15 each) — $30.00
4 milkshakes ($9 each) — $36.00
2 queso dips (~$9.00 each) — $18.00
3 sodas ($3.50 each) — $10.50

$13.00 + $14.00 + $30.00 + $36.00 + $18.00 + $10.50 = $121.50 before tax and tip
We were charged $174 before taxes and tips which is still far above what the meal should have cost. We still left a good tip because we are not rude people, but honestly, that price was ridiculous.

Service was excellent. Keep in mind, this is a small place and it may be a bit slower at busy times. Food is better & more interesting than your typical Mexican/ South American restaurant. Menu is excellent with a wide variety of choices. About a min away from the highway, so it’s an easy stop during transit (*not fast-food). For some authentic South of the border food, it’s worth the extra 20min drive from Chattanooga.

We were recently coming back from a trip to Mexico City, Puebla and Taxco and heading for Atlanta when we stunned to stumble onto this place which, as the name indicates, is really owned by a lovely family from Taxco, the beautiful silver city in the highlands of Guerrero. We had two great burritos, one carnitas, the other carne asada. Both were delicious and had generous portions of juicy meat and thoughtfully prepared and presented.

I freaking love this place I wish I could find one in Florida that has this type of service and food. We had the guac and fajita mix. Don’t listen to the negative comments. Their prices are dead on with other restaurants. Yes they don’t give you chips but they’re only 3 bucks.

Went here on my lunch break last night, and the lady at the front was the sweetest. I already planned to write a review because of how amiable she was, and then I saw this little sticker on my plate.
She answered all of my questions and was very attentive. I got the Enchiladas George, which I’ve never had before, and it was delicious. They were fast and it was fresh. I ordered it to go, so I didn’t really look throughout the restaurant, but it looked more spacious on the inside and they played different music from what you typically hear. Next time I want to try their juice!

I was not expecting to find fabulous Mexican food in the mountains of Tennessee. But I did. Taxqueno Mexican restaurant in Lookout Valley is not fancy to look at, but the food — and fresh juices — are well worth a visit. The salsa was served cold, and it was fresh and zingy. Nothing at all bitter or bland. The ground beef burrito was simple: just flavorful beef and white cheese sauce poured over the flour shell. The absence of tomato and lettuce was not an issue. The beef was perfectly tasty without it. I also liked that it was not served with beans and rice. The chips and salsa, burrito and my fresh juice were filling enough. As for the juice, I got the spicy pineapple juice. It contained pineapple, carrot, orange and ginger. It was blended fresh for me, not frozen. The menu has a wide selection of fresh juices and smoothies. My server was very friendly, and she helped me with my Spanish when I told her I wanted to practice. The tables and interior were nothing fancy. The bathroom was small but clean. There was ample parking. I will definitely return to this place when I am in town. It was a treat!
