Really wanted to love this place, and if the food was better it would be 5 stars. The good – valet parking for $5.95 flat rate, great location in Franklin, beautiful hotel lobby and dinning room, and service from everyone from host to server was excellent.

Really the only negative for us was the price vs food quality. With tip we spent good $500 for 4 adults, we had 3 apps, 4 entries with just two shared sides, and two desserts plus three glasses of wine. The real negative was one app came out undercooked with raw literal dough, and both our NY York strip steaks were laughably small and of very low quality. Also served with far to much butter and under-seasoned. The salmon was not great, very little flavor or attention to detail, and tasted farm raised. Lastly, Apple Pie came out room temperature with bland vanilla ice cream, honestly tasted like it came from Costco, probably did as I buy that pie often myself.

And lastly, the shared side of fries were just normal out of the bag fries that no one ate. When I come to a decent restaurant and we invest over $100 a person, can we please bunch up everything from fries to Brussels sprouts to your steaks/salmon and desserts, which was maybe 5 out of 10 at best. Sure we ate it, but recommend to hire a chef who truly cares that is allowed to source locally farm sourced and quality food, and we will happily return for a redo. Otherwise, so many better spots for quality food in the Franklin area, and spoken as a Brentwood native.

I ate on “Whiskey Wednesday” and this is a burger and restaurant choice on the Whiskey. The burger was excellent. Also a normal house, but I took photos of the plating, the Whiskey offered, as well as the menu description. These items: $30 total. Can’t beat Whiskey and a burger for that as you can see by the menu photo.

They did an excellent job and highly recommend! I apologize the menu on didn’t come out “Landscape.” I tried. My phone is a petulant child with lighting!

Later update, Christmas Day…

I had the pleasure to enjoy Bourboun Barrel Beef Carpaccio and a Bison Loin. It was fantastic! I did my thing with plating from “as served” to, I’m excited to play. Opportunity folks. The Bison was the tricky character. Yes, you had the Blackberry Mustard Sauce. The pile of Greens was the key. Call it “Emerald City?” up to you, but two of us eating that night found that it elevated the flavor like crazy. Perhaps a Pesto of sorts tops her off. Who knows. One thing I can say is 1799 is on it, and I am excited to not only appreciate the bar staff, but those who made it possible in the Kitchen. Well done.

Excellent food that is fully priced. Lots of activities going on. Where we sat was a bit cool. Our server was stretched covering too many tables which was not her fault. She was very pleasant. This is a good place to go for fine dining. I would go back

A Remarkable Fine Dining Experience at 1799 in Franklin, Tennessee

If you’re searching for the best fine dining in Franklin, Tennessee, look no further than 1799. Nestled inside a the Harpeth hotel, this restaurant offers a luxurious and memorable atmosphere.

We had the pleasure of dining in “the barrel,” a beautifully illuminated space with an inviting vibe. The booth seating outside the barrel is dark and moody, making it perfect for an intimate and romantic date.

The culinary delights were unforgettable. I savored the chuck eye bison steak, a special of the evening, which was perfectly cooked and topped with delicious mushrooms. The restaurant also offers several other bison options year-round. My mother enjoyed the halibut, which she declared the best she’s ever had; so buttery and topped with a parmesan crust. The accompanying vegetables and sauce were equally impressive.

We also ordered the au gratin potatoes, and they were the most perfectly crafted version I’ve ever had; enough to serve four people!

To top off the evening, they surprised my mom with a chocolate and raspberry cake for her birthday. The service was exceptional, thanks to Anastasia, who made us feel incredibly welcome and ensured we had a five-star dining experience.

For anyone looking for the best fine dining experience near Nashville, 1799 is the place to go!

We hosted our FemCity Nashville holiday party at 1799 Kitchen & Bar Room in Franklin, and it was beautiful. The space was decorated so nicely for Christmas, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the drinks were great. Such a perfect spot for a festive gathering.

It was a wonderful surprise to walk into 1799 and discover such a beautifully decorated restaurant. The romantic touches throughout truly set a special mood. You don’t always associate hotel restaurants with such a quaint and inviting ambiance, but 1799 certainly delivers.

The exceptional service was the next highlight of our experience. Timmy immediately made us feel comfortable and promptly brought us some of the dishes we were eager to try. And the food! Everything was absolutely delicious and incredible. From the warm bread to the decadent dessert, every dish was tastefully prepared and presented.

A special shout-out to the general manager Sarena A. for making us feel so welcome and at ease. As local Franklin residents, we are keen to continue promoting 1799. We look forward to many more memorable meals here!

We’ve been to the Harpeth before and we’ve had samples of their food at whiskey events but this was the first time trying it for dinner. It was an hour drive for us coming from north Nashville so we were hoping the drive was worth it.

It was. The Harpeth Liepers Forks collaboration of bourbon started the night off right. We had superb appetizers; pork belly, cheese fondue and fried mushrooms as a side but they made a great appetizer. Anastasia took great care of us and had this great suggestion about the mushrooms.

The Prime Filet Wellington was the best we’ve ever had. We finished off with a phenomenal Carrot Cake. It was so good we inhaled it before we could get a picture. We’d definitely recommend 1799 for a high class gourmet meal that has a spectacular bourbon selection!!!

Great atmosphere and food. May be the best nice dinner date night place in Franklin. I strongly recommend the lamb and roasted cauliflower. The bar area has a smaller food menu and seemed good for dropping in.

It was our first time at 1799 and I have to say we had the best experience there! The food was phenomenal, the service was outstanding (Timmy was an amazing server), and the atmosphere was very intimate which we loved! I got the special which was a seafood risotto, it was absolutely amazing…I still think about that dish because it was THAT good! The cocktails were a solid 10/10. It was definitely an expensive dinner but it was SOOOOO worth it! We can’t wait to come back!

Incredible restaurant with fantastic food, a great bourbon selection, and exceptional service. Our waiter, Reilly, was amazing. So knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. I thoroughly enjoyed my rigatoni, and my boyfriend has been talking about the beef wellington for weeks now lol. Our favorite however was the carrot cake Reilly recommended! It was so moist and flavorful, and just the right amount of rich and sweet. We’ll definitely be back!
