Parking lot was a little cramped, but that’s understandable due to the snow. I had a feeling I had been here before, but it was a different restaurant. Found out later that it was formerly Watami. I recognized the window view from the inside.
Arrived a few minutes before our reservation, and we were seated right away at a cozy corner. The place had several tables occupied, and it looks like we got there at the right time.
Drink and appetizer orders were taken, and we had a little time to look through the menu. A bottle of wine and a couple of cocktails came out and entree orders were taken promptly. I had looked it up ahead of time, and had my sights set on the Paella Valencia. We also got the Grilled Octopus (perfectly grilled and seasoned), empanadas which were smaller than I expected, but delicious (Might have been too much if they were bigger). we also had the seafood-stuffed jalapenos, and calamari for appetizers, and others in our party got the lamb chops, stuffed sole, and salmon for their mains.
I finished my entire pot of paella, it was fantastic.
I always like when the chef comes around to see firsthand how the guests are enjoying their meals, and Chef Nunez did just that. I think we’ll bring other people here next time, there were many other items that caught my eye that reminded me of our time in Spain

Everything was fantastic, starting with the greeting from the Hostess we got when we walked in the door. Had to wait 15 minutes for a table so we decided to graba drink from the Bar. John made a perfect old fashion for my better half and a very good vodka martini for myself. We started with the calamari and stuff plantains for appetizers while waiting for our table, the calamari was spot on, Best we had in a long time. The stuffed plantain was very good. I had lamb chops which were seasoned and in my opinion perfect !! My lovely date had salmon with mashed potatoes and vegetables , she loved it. We finished up with flan and some fried cheesecake. We will definitely be back !! Need more restaurants like La buena Vida !!

I should start by saying I don’t write reviews. I have been to La Buena Vida a few times to grab drinks and appetizers with friends. It’s always been a nice experience. My husband and I decided to pop in and have dinner. I have to say… I think the chef sprinkles magic of some kind into his dishes! Everything we had was special. Unique flavors blends, great portions and beautifully presented fresh food. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Looking forward to our next visit.

So glad the neighborhood finally got a nice restaurant! Food was really good, steak bigger than expected and cooked to perfection…and grilled octopus was by far the best thing we tried. Drinks were also very good! Service was very friendly and had a family vibe. Wish the ambience was a little better, but all in all a really nice spot. Will def go back!

Discovered La Buena Vida today looking for a nice place to have lunch and it was truly a gem.
Restaurant is bright and cozy ambience.
Indoor and outdoor seating options and the latter comes with a beautiful view of a pond.
Staff were attentive and friendly, they were happy to accommodate a dietary request.
The chef came to our table twice to make sure we were enjoying our meal and then to drop off dessert.
Everything was delicious – great flavors & aromas, well seasoned and cooked perfectly.
Portions are very generous, we shared the paella valencia which was full of seafood, chorizo and chicken so we happily brought home half of it.
We will definitely be back again.

LBV never disappoints! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is perfect — warm, stylish, and welcoming. The food is consistently amazing, the drinks are crafted perfectly, and the entire experience feels elevated without being pretentious. I’ve been here multiple times and it’s always a hit. We’ve done lunch, dinner, our gender reveal and just booked our baby’s first birthday party here. I’ve traveled the world searching for the best Taco Tuesday and little did I know it’s been right up the block from me. The shrimp tacos will make you want to quit your job and live there. Our waitress has had us the last 4 times and we bring our baby and we have our own special table now. It’s THEEEEE coolest. Tonight I had a beef and cheese stuffed plantain. It was the Pinnacle of my life. I’m a better man having had that. Probably going to be there every Tuesday for the rest of my life.

We went mushroom picking at a nearby farm on Barnes Road before stopping at La Buena Vida. The outside of the restaurant was unassuming. It has a parking lot. We walked in with no reservation and was greeted warmly right away.
Our server was friendly and cheerful. Gave us time to look through the menu while getting our drinks. We ordered tapas sampler, grilled octopus, mussels in garlic-wine sauce, a cheese board and Paella to share. Everything came out pretty and delicious.

Being a local to the area and passing this place literally 1000s of times i finally stopped in.. The food is made with love. Wow this was a treat. I very much enjoyed this meal. I will absolutely be back. Please show an amazing local spot some love and try them out. The fresh seafood and the perfectly cooked steak hit the spot.
