Food was hot and fresh, best hash browns I’ve had in years. Servers were fine. Only issue i had was the country gravy was rather pedestrian. Not sure if it was packaged or not but it sure seemed like it. I’d go back just for the hashbrowns. Had a couple trains go by when we were there, so if you’re allergic, just a heads up

Pretty good food. Decent price. Acceptable speed. I will say that It seemed difficult to get the attention on anyone on shift, everyone was nice and friendly when they did approach us for the most part. Not very great table waiting skills tho. Bought a salad as an appetizer and were done eating it before the main course came, left the plate on the end of the table but she didnt pick it up so it just kind of sat there, in the way and cluttered. And she did not check back frequent enough to know that we would have liked more water which sat closest to the edge of the table as we Sat waiting for someone to even look our direction. After almost 10 minutes I decided to stand up and just step up to the register to be seen shortly after to ask if we were done. Still tipped her decent cause she seemed to be dealing with a very irritable, grumpy guy who showed up sometime after our salad. Just would hope for better customer awareness skills is all. Couldn’t ask for much better of a piece of breaded veal though. Cooked and seasoned nicely.

Wanted a cafe while driving. Found this one that was well reviewed. I like to eat at places that aren’t franchised, so we decided to go here. What a wonderful small town cafe. The menu had a lot of variety. We were all able to get food we wanted and it was made fast and tasted very good. The place is full of pictures talking about the history of the town. If I am ever up that way again I will eat here again! Thanks for a great meal!

Simple country side deli vibe. The price is very reasonable. But I need to point out that the chicken steak is not fresh chicken meat, but processed meat.

Delicious breakfast!! I had a perfectly seasoned pork chop, crispy hashbrowns, and 2 egg-cellent eggs! Hubby had a full order of biscuits and gravy. He took half home. He said it was very good. Fresh coffee, and we didn’t have to wait long. Prices were reasonable. I will mention that the waitress, although prompt and accurate, had no personality… no smile, no good morning, no friendliness at all. It won’t keep us from returning, however.

I visited on January 3, 2024, and enjoyed every aspect of my experience. The food was excellent, which is impressive since I only ordered breakfast and I have high expectations for that meal. The service was also outstanding, as our coffee mugs were never allowed to drop below halfway. The building itself was quaint and interesting, contributing to a true small-town atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place!

Update from Jan 2nd. A great local restaurant. Another great dinner. The food is prepared to perfection each and every time. We went there for for the Friday night Prime Rib. We ordered prime rib, very “rare”. It was the best Prime Rib meals we have had in a long time. The meat was very flavorful, cooked to profection. The sides; green beans, baked potato, salad and ice cream Sunday made it a complete meal. Great service, and very friendly staff. The restaurant was very busy. People were coming and going all the time we were there.. The restaurant was kept very clean. Shelly was a great waitress and the cook, is the best.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for 20 years. Food is good, restaurant is right on the train tracks, small town food and vibe. Id recommend the burgers, but all their food is good.
