I want to leave a good review because the guys working today were really nice but the food leaves much to be desired. The pineapple fried rice was a letdown unfortunately. There was only a slice of pineapple and not fried with the rice which was also not fried. It was just like steamed rice with barely any seasoning. The chicken was dry. The ribs were also a bit dry and I was really hoping for more flavor and tenderness in them. The tri tip was at least juicy though. Just a lack of flavor overall and did not make me feel like I was eating Hawaiin BBQ. The lack or flavor just seems to be the trend out here in this area though. Quality was not worth the price but I want to say thank you for the service though, at least that wasn’t lacking.

The food is really delicious and when I got a large plate I was not disappointed! Service was nice. The guy at the cash register let me know about the prices because I was a little confused by the menu. The guy who brought me my food was nice as well! Atmosphere was excellent. I really liked their decorations and it looks clean. The price was more than fair for this experience. Thank you

I cannot speak highly enough about how great my experience getting catering was from Kona Cafe. It’s become a treat for us whenever we’re out in the Thurston area to stop by, so we chose them for catering for my wife’s graduation party. Talking with the owner was easy, food was ready on time and everything was beyond amazing. The supplies included (sauce labeled etc), the packaging was strong, and the food was AMAZING. Everyone was asking where the food was from and I was more than happy to give my recommendation! And we’ve enjoyed leftovers for a couple days afterwards!

The food tastes good but I’m not paying $15 – $20 to get mostly rice/noodles. Last plate I bought had a very disappointing amount of protein, the MAIN part of the dish. Unacceptable.

This place is my go-to for Hawaiian in Springfield, OR. Can’t go wrong with the Kalua Pork, pineapple fried rice, and potato mac salad! 🙂

The Cafe sits on 46th Main have driven past this for a few years, decided tonight I wanted something different that was close to me. So Tonight I stopped at the Kona Cafe They are take out only, that was ok I had planned to do it anyway. Staff was friendly and talkative, Atmosphere was Hawaiian decorations surf boards and stuff I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken, ordered the Wok Fry Noodles with Potato Mac Salad and had 2- 1/4 slices of fresh pineapple Fast Service Food was very good and filling and nice flavor. Its worth the stop if your in the area looking to take something home or back to work

So I decided to go to Kona Cafe a Second time, I had such good service and food the first time, thought it would be the same. Was earlier in the afternoon I said to the Staff Member had such good food the last time I was here, its only been a few days I wanted more, said something to the effect of you wanted it the 2nd time I should have walked out right then, I ordered the same thing but it was terrible like it was scraped from the bottom of the grill had a chard taste to it. And I got it home the container had not been closed all the way so all my food was in the bag together, had to remove from bag and put it on a plate. Very disappointed this time. Thinking should I try it a third time because sometimes you have off days At this time not sure

Absolutely delicious food, you can tell it’s authentic and smoked low and slow over real charcoal, no liquid smoke here. Delicious AND affordable, for $10 you can get 2 meats, and 2 sides which is more food than I can eat at once, so it usually ends up as lunch the next day too. I lived in Hawaii for 10 years and ever since coming back to the states I have been searching for authentic, home cooked food and I finally found the perfect spot!

Checks every box for a great Hawaiian meal – great food at a low price, great music, friendly service, and themed interior! So glad I stumbled on this restaurant. I’ll be back.

These people lived in Kona for a few years and thought they could fool us! The potato Mac recipe is one tub of Resers Mac to one tub of resers mac! Not authentic home made! I’m a white girl and make better Hawaiian food than these fakes! Try Lani Moku or another real authentic plate! Support the real Hawaiian’s! Aloha

Only been here 2 times but I’ve liked it both times. Very affordable and good portions. The menu confuses me slightly but I think that’s more my personal problem. I was able to just say I wanted the spicy chicken with rice and macaroni salad and that’s what they got me. AND it came with a slice of pineapple which was really refreshing. Definitely worth trying them out. Even if you don’t end up liking it, it’s not very expensive and they get you your food pretty quick. Take a chance! Try something new!
