Found this on Google Maps and was curious to try. Got the Chicken Makhani and also got a Chicken tikka masala with Naan bread. Waitress was very nice. Was absolutely delicious and found our new favorite spot

Edit in 2025: I don’t recommend them anymore. Their prices kept going up and they’re far above par for prices now and the food has gone downhill. The food just lacks any love and seems they’re taking shortcuts. Crazy that indian food could be bland but theirs is now. I totally agree with the other reviewer saying “garam masala flavored tomato soup”. Way too sweet too.

Original review in 2018: Delicious and authentic Indian food. Great service. Will definitely be back. I liked that they offered choice of spiciness from 1 to 5 so both of us could have perfect dishes, and they were spot on.

First time eating chaat. They recommended the Sumosa Chaat and it was amazing. The flavor explosion was amazing. The chicken curry was spot on and the naan was great. Definitely a new favorite place for a once a month treat

I was not terribly impressed with the meal.the naan was delicious but both of our meat selections seem like they just had canned sauce poured over the commercially processed meat. Also there were no vegetables to come with a meal.

I cannot get enough of India Tadka. It’s my favorite lunch spot in the area, hands down. I come here when I want flavorful, deliciously prepared homemade food and a quiet spot to enjoy it.

I have never had rice that’s prepared more perfectly than the long-grained basmati served here. Everything I order is vegetarian, and there is an endless variety of options. I’ve never had anything I did not 110% fall in love with. The food is not oily or greasy, like some Indian restaurants in the area. The tofu melts in your mouth, the paneer has the perfect texture, and every single dish is full of flavor. The chai tea is made per order and is quite delicious. Don’t forget to get a side of homemade tamarind chutney. It’s far better than the stuff you make from the concentrate purchased in Asian grocery stores!

The charming woman who cooks all the food (yes, one person is responsible for all the cooking!) is kind and extremely attentive. It’s truly like eating in your Indian grandmother’s house. You feel cared for and un- rushed. We are so very lucky to have a family-owned, authentic place like this located in a strip mall in the western suburbs. I will be back again and again.

Have grown up eating Indian food and always am looking for similar to what a cousins grandma would make us! Always spot on with the spice! Butter chicken is full of flavor and huge chicken chunks! Love their garlic naan samosas and tamarind chutney eager to try curry and paneer dishes next time!

We visited this restaurant recently. The girl who assists in seating and taking orders was very courteous. We went on a weekday evening with no other diners. We wanted Choley Bature and though it was not in their menu card, they were courteous to prepare it for us impromptu. I appreciate them going the extra step towards customer satisfaction. Ambience was decent and I really liked the Samosa chat and the fresh fulkas. I would recomment this place definitely. They serve beer and non-vegetarian Indian dishes as well.

In the dim-lit kitchen, shadows dance and sway,
A pot once bubbling with spices now sits still.
The tikka masala warmth, a memory of yesterday,
Its fragrant promise, faded, unfulfilled.

Ok so maybe I got a bad demonstration of their chicken tikka masala. It was not very good. It pretty much tasted like garam masala flavored tomato soup with chicken pieces in it. The rice was good and had an amazing flavor, smell, taste. The chicken tikka…not so much.

I’m very disappointed.

Perfectly prepared Shrimp – tender and juicy and not overdone – in the korma. Tender, sweet, flavor-packed Gulab jamin – a perfect dessert. This is not rich but more satisfying than a rich sweet. The savory and spicy samosas with a dipping sauce that is divine are amazing. Paneer tikka masala that is creamy and punches every good taste button in the mouth. The naan is great. Of note is how the rice is fragrant and fluffy, perfectly cooked and not sticky or gluey as in many takeout situations. I love that this is family owned. Beats most of the Indian food in the nation’s capital.

This place has some of the best Indian food in the greater Des Moines area. Good portions other than the non which you only get one piece the size of pita chopped into 4 small slices.
