I’m absolutely loving The Shanty Bar! The food and drinks are top-notch – everything I’ve ordered has been delicious and expertly crafted. But what really sets them apart is the amazing service and welcoming atmosphere.
One of the things that impresses me the most is the flexibility and kindness of the staff. Even when the bar is technically closed, they’ve let me and others sit on their balcony, which offers a fantastic view and a super relaxing vibe. It’s these little touches that make a huge difference and show that they truly care about their customers having a great experience.
If you’re looking for a great spot to grab a bite or drink and enjoy some chill vibes, The Shanty Bar is definitely worth checking out.

I’ve been there 4 times and it never disappoints!
Didn’t eat there yesterday but wish I would have. They had fresh made on the spot empanadas! They smelled amazing.
Sat outside with a buddy on a picnic table looking at the ocean as a ton of 20s & 30-somethings played cards, drank beers, and loved life! It’s pretty apparent they all live close & walk over. And more than half are surfers.
Inside there’s a pool table, tunes cranking, many TVs for sports, and lively conversation between regulars & bar-staff at a wrap around bar that seats 30?? Hard A & many beers on tap.

Pop up Copper King was here when we went to The Shandy. We decided to get food from Fish 101 instead and bring it to The Shandy. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. Our drinks were made to perfection. It was busy but we found parking close by. Dogs are welcome here and it was fun to see them all! When we left, there was a line to get a table outside. Drinks are very reasonably priced!

The outdoor patio that was added transformed this location to THE hangout spot in Cardiff! The indoor vibes are a relaxed pub that reminds me of Cheers, while the outdoor patio is vibrant and energetic with great drinks. And make sure you don’t miss the food trucks. Makes this an all around great destination for fun.

It’s a great bar for locals and visitors, it’s changed a lot over the years but the new owners have really made this place a popular spot for many to enjoy their evenings and weekends. They have an epic outdoor space with a lovely gazebo that has a bomb sushi once or twice a month from Stoked on Sushi (they cater as well). I recommend this spot to anyone looking for a good time, great drink, and fun experience.

Fantastic bar. Has a good selection and a mostly enclosed but still outside air flowing room for smoking and vaping that is pretty peaceful because they don’t play music in there. Makes it easy to actually have good conversations while you drink. In the main section they have pool tables and a really good jukebox with a very large selection. They have made improvements to the bathroom that are extremely nice to see. The staff all seems friendly and content. Has a very cozy feeling and is apparently a staple of the area.

Hate this place with a fury… was at a wedding in the hotel next door.. needed to ask directions and the parking lot karen gave me heck instead of asking how he could help… real tough guy.. there’s amazing places to eat and chill all over SD.. if you got money avoid this dive
