Curious just to try out a breakfast plate since this location is under new ownership and has changed its name was pleasantly surprised not only did I get a sizable portion the home fries were excellent my pancakes were fluffy and done the way I like truly a gem in this small town service was fast I waited less than ten minutes and they do have patio seating outside folks by request so happy dining my fine folks!

Ricky’s Highway Cafe has quickly become our family’s go-to breakfast spot. Honestly, it’s the only place our kids pick when we ask where they want to go. The service is always great, the staff is friendly, and the food is consistently delicious.
They have an amazing chorizo burrito (my kids even add bacon to it!), and my personal go-tos are the Hobo or the Mexican Skillet, both always hit the spot. The biscuits and gravy are always a hit!
This spot took over the old Wayside Cafe, which left some pretty big shoes to fill, and they’ve not only filled them they’ve completely surpassed them. If you’re looking for a solid, comforting, and reliable breakfast place, Ricky’s Highway Café is it. Highly recommend!

How I wish I could reply to people’s reviews. To the review left by B.N. I was sitting there while this happened. it’s a small cafe with one cook and two waitresses and then two huge parties come in suddenly. People are human and make mistakes. I have no doubt that your table got forgotten about for a moment and that is a shame but that didn’t t give you the right to yell at those poor waitresses over it. Instead next time just get up and politely remind them about your table. Had you bothered with manners I’m sure they would have apologized and helped you quickly. The staff is extremely friendly and always helpful. They just got overwhelmed for a moment.
I’m a regular at Rickey’s and their other place they have in Lancaster. The food is always good with a rare miss once in awhile and that’s usually just a minor issue with one item on my plate. Genuinely my hash browns not being cooked not perfect but I’m picky about that and it’s more a me issue. But they get them perfect most times. Also they always get my eggs right. I like over medium and that’s really hard to do for some places and mine are always perfect.
The staff is always friendly. They have daily specials and once in a while a new item they have cooked up for the day. The service is always good even when busy usually. the incident above is probably the first time I’ve seen the staff make a mistake. But those two huge parties took up nearly half the cafe by themselves. I’m not surprised things got a little hectic for a moment. I just wish people had more patience and manners instead of resorting to tantrums.
