This is exactly the type of place you want to find when you are traveling. Great locals running an institution that’s been around in some form for nearly (more than?) a hundred years. Enjoyed the coffee, breakfast, and the history of this great restaurant and coffee shop on the Great River Road.

My only “”complaint”” if you will, is I wish there were more vegan options but this place is amazing especially given the hours and location I will go there everyday while I work here.

Great coffee, atmosphere and helpful directions. Besides the coffee, quiche, cinnamon roll, and many customers who were welcoming to strangers and fun, Ron, the owner, was gracious, service minded, and sharing of his sense of humor. Just don’t ask him for his quiche recipe. 😉 If ever in the area again, this is a go to great place to stop.

What a surprising little gem!!! Ron (owner) told us “best coffee in Wisconsin” and he was not joking!!! We would drive from Madison to Cassville just for the coffee! The atmosphere and food were amazing also!

The coffee is fantastic, the muffins were perfect.
Staff is very friendly, the owners were there and very welcoming.
Atmosphere is cozy and warm.

The food here was fantastic, the customer service was even better. Ron was a fantastic host, talking with everyone who came in, learning names and making you feel more comfortable for when you definitely come back another time.

My wife and I travel through small towns in Wisconsin often and always make a point to support small coffee and sandwich shops. We’ve dined and carried out from dozens of these places but I have never been so impressed with the overall experience as I was at Driftless.
We modified two of the menu sandwiches to our liking which turned out excellent. Very fresh ingredients and amazing taste in the food as well as our drinks.
The to-go containers, silverware, straws, and even the bag to hold our containers were of excellent quality and compostable. The muffin paper had a nice design on it and our hot drink had a wooden smiley face plug.
To the owners; Bravo! I’m sure you don’t hear it enough, but there are people who notice these things and they make all the difference in the customer experience. It’s great to have businesses like yours in small communities and we will make it a point to visit yours everytime we are through Cassville.
