Had a great lunch today. I had the Ruben sandwich with onion rings and my wife had the Taco Salad. It was my first time here, but she has been many times. The food was great and service was excellent. Will definitely be returning to try more of the menu.

The Ironwood is the restaurant/pub attached to the Breton Bay Country Club golf course. I’d call it a pub in the sense that it’s more of the family and friend meeting place than a country club restaurant. We’ve been down there for years as they host the community Christmas tree lighting where Santa visits to throw the switch and visit with all of the neighborhood kids. Food is standard pub fare with some more deli style sandwiches and salads. I’ll never complain about their service. Service is perfect even when it’s packed. If the Ironwood comes back as an option when you search restaurants, don’t ignore it. You’ll love, especially in the warmer months, the chance to eat outside with a view of the golfers wasting all of their good swings on the driving range.

While the decor is a bit dated, the food is pretty damn good for a golf course bar. Service CAN be a bit spotty due to crowd vs. staffing for the day, but everyone is nice and very accommodating. We go back repeatedly.

I had the fried oysters. They didn’t have much of a taste and I’ve never seen flat oysters. The Cole slaw was just cabbage with no dressing. $16. + (W/out drink) was a little expensive for what I got. P.S. another lady with my group thought the same thing about the oyster meal.

Came all the way to the restaurant because of a GRUBHUB order just to be told they don’t do GRUBHUB at all. Wondering why they are on the website then. When asked if they can still place the order so that I can take the food that the customer already payed for they told me no. Waste of time and money. Bad management.
