Food Review:
Chashu Don was the rice bowl it was delicious!!!! Had this awesome tasting sauce and Japanese mayo on top with green onions, Im not a fan of pickled garlic but it does come as a topping.
Great portion size well worth the money. We tried a bunch of apps. I didn’t like that they used spicy sweet chili as the dipping sauce for tempura shrimp, egg rolls, takoyaki and gyoza. Wish there was like a tempura sauce, just my preference. Gyoza are fried. The takoyaki was also surprising, I usually don’t like them but I wanted to give it a try. Their batter is a little different from traditional, but toppings are standard bonito flakes, Japanese mayo, (I can’t tell what the brown sauce is, its like a teriyaki) and green onions.
The tonkotsu original was great. I ordered the toppings on the side. Came with bean sprouts, wood ear mushrooms, soft boiled egg, green onions and of course 2x slices of pork. The noodles are very light (not like big ramen noodles) and you get a great portion. The pork they make is just amazing. Food came out quite fast for everything we ordered. It was also super fresh and hot, always a great aspect to consider for any restaurant.
Atmosphere:
Chill vibe. Plenty of seats and I really like the decor. Staff is very friendly. I never caught his name, Im assuming he is the owner or manager but the man was extremely helpful and kind. When I told him it was my first time he showed me and explained to me the menu items. He answered any questions I had and even recommended items from the menu. I didn’t even have to ask for boxes. Very happy with service.
You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into their food and menu. The pricing I thought was decent, chasu pork takes a lot of prep and time to cook. Also sodas are canned. It seems like everything is made fresh daily which is awesome!!!
Definitely my new fav spot and its so close to Laughlin which is a huge plus!
We ordered Tonkalotsu Original and spicy, delicious. The Takoyaki was okay. The Mochi came out still hard, had to wait for a few minutes before eatable, but it’s worth it. The sesame balls were so delicious, soft and crunchy, not too sweet. We came back the following day just for another sesame balls, to go.
The appetizers are also really good. I often skip on appetizers since they’re so expensive nowadays but I highly recommend trying some out there. They re definitely worth the price.
