Very clean and elegant, we loved the food and service. It’s the most luxurious restaurant in the city, with a spectacular view.

The drink was well prepared, the onion soup was delicious, and the lobster risotto rice was excellent.

We ate at Ruthie’s this weekend, while we had company from out of town. The restaurant is beautiful. Our waitress Angelica was excellent and the Maitre D was wonderful. I started with an espresso martini. That was perfect. Next I ordered the fillet lollipops which came with three different sauces/toppings, all delicious. This arrived at the same time as my friend’s lobster bisque which was room temperature. The person next to me received their filet medallions and shrimp, that came with mashed potatoes, that were cold. Another friend had the prime rib, which they said was okay. I had a loaded baked potato. The toppings all came on the side. The shredded cheese was hard. I thought maybe it was a fancy cheese that was supposed to be crunchy. I tasted it and it was cheddar for sure, but the taste and texture suggested that it had sat out on a counter all day long. My baked potato itself was so cold the butter didn’t melt. I visited with the maitre d about our concerns. He offered to get us all fresh food, but we had all been trying to be polite so we had eaten some of it. He apologized and adjusted our bill. We did have room for dessert this time. One friend had the key lime cheesecake and I had the creme brulee, both were excellent! Although we were disappointed, the staff were outstanding. I would be willing to try Ruthie’s again in the future, just in case they are still learning processes since the restaurant is new.

I truly wanted to love this restaurant. I gave it not one, but three tries, hoping it would improve — but unfortunately, it just never delivered. The food is consistently bland, and despite trying several different entrées, nothing stood out. The steaks are underwhelming, and the bread trio (especially the vanilla butter dip) was, frankly, unpleasant. The bread itself is overly heavy and dense.

As for the drinks, the bartenders seemed unsure how to make even basic cocktails, and the quality reflected that — definitely subpar.

The one redeeming quality is the stunning view. Grand Island really does need a quality upscale dining option, and I was hoping this would be it. Sadly, unless some serious changes are made, this just isn’t the place.

Absolutely outstanding from start to finish.
The service was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm—the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like you chose the right place the moment you sit down. The food? Exceptional. Steaks cooked perfectly, rich flavors, and thoughtful presentation across the board.

I do want to gently address a comment I’ve seen in other reviews regarding the lobster bisque being “warm.” That is actually how lobster bisque is traditionally served. It’s a bisque, not a brothy soup—meant to be velvety, rich, and delicately warm so the cream and lobster flavors shine without breaking. Served exactly as it should be.

Ruthie’s clearly understands both classic technique and elevated dining. If you’re looking for excellent food, knowledgeable service, and a refined experience done right, this is the place. We’ll absolutely be back.

Would go back for the mac and cheese. Sides are not included with the main course so just going back for all the sides dishes. The soup is served in a bowl that takes up the entire table. Nice presentation just a silly bowl for a scoop of soup.

Very nice atmosphere loved the rooftop view. I ordered the lobster bisque and my only complaint was there was not enough. It was delicious. Husband had the sea bass. It seemed very fresh and had a good flavor, something that is usually impossible to find in middle america. We are definitely coming back.

This place needs some work. For the cost we shouldn’t have a 19 year old server that doesn’t know how to work in a fine dinning place. Very disappointed. $500 for 3 people! We were in the place for over 3 hours. Saw multiple people walk out we should have joined them. They never comped any drinks or food that was all served cold. He didn’t put our food order in and came back 45 min later to tell us he lost his order ticket so we had to reorder. All the appetizers came out cold. The “seafood tower” was not even close to a tower. Just seafood on multiple plates. The only reason I left 2 stars is because the lobster was really good and I liked my Irish coffee!
