Fresh delicious food. Went there with my mother husband and Jamaican father in law. Everyone cleaned their plate or took home their left overs and devoured them the next day. I’m so sad they are closing.

10/30/25 enjoyed masala chai, chicken tikka masala spicy, Aloo Baingan, Bindi Masala, & Tandoori Roti. Service Prathyu P is very kind, gentle, attentive, hospitable & AMBITIOUS.

My only fuss is a simple fix, and that is rather than using any plastic at all (see photo), for heated “to go” foods, please …use “foil lux paper lid” covers; no plastic. SAVE all living things bloodstreams from tiny micro plastic particles. Blessings, Sara

Overall great food, and friendly staff. Seems like mostly locals who eat here, and everyone is met with a smile and “welcome back”. Unfortunately, I didn’t make a list of names of all the dishes we ate, but the only one I didn’t care much for was the salmon – it was a bit overdone and over seasoned.

The food is SOOOOOO good! The flavors incredible. Classic home Indian cooking. Big menu. I hadn’t been for awhile (it’s not close to the house) and stopped for takeout the other night — it was fast, well-priced, nice people, and so seriously delicious. Go ASAP! (And order mild or medium spiciness unless you’re brave!! 🙂

I visited so many Indian cuisine around Tri-state area last six years, many of them just okay, many of them ‘not to visit again’ type, many of them really good, but this restaurant “Tandoori Flames” are something else, if you really want to have some real Indian test you must go there, the location not that popular neighborhood neither the outlook of the restaurant is wow type, and we had to wait a little bit longer than usual, but once the food came and we started testing, we started seeing each other’s face, what is this? I can’t explain how was the test of those food, we didn’t test like for a long time..I wish I can visit them every day!
Thank you so much chief!

2025-Oct-13 update to owner response: Owner conveniently twisting the reality and using emotionally charged wording in response – especially when not even present. Here is our reality:

We walked in. The person who seated us could not speak English. Hence could not communicate and not understand about our ask for “regular tap water”. 20 mins later sole server comes to ask about type of water. We sternly express disappointment about it and ask how long food might take. Server says she is sole person serving everyone and food won’t take long at all. So we place order. Next thing we know owner/chef comes barging out of kitchen to “educate” us.

Nothing that is stated below about telling us about online reservations, wait time, etc., happened. Spend your dollars here, if you want to lose time, get educated on how one should expect service and later be labeled.

2025-Oct-11: Extremely arrogant owner/chef. He did not care for how he communicates to customers about staffing shortage and hence the long wait times. Thinks the right way to handle anyone complaining about the amount of time it takes to even get water at the table (forget taking the order) is to speak loudly and arrogantly to the customer and expect the customer to sit and wait it out.

No amount of Indian heritage pictures and decorations can make up for this serious betrayal of the ethos of hospitality Indian establishments are known for.

Two thumbs up for Tandoori Flames! This restaurant was taken over by new owners at the end of November, and they certainly have a great thing going. The ambiance is calming with dim lighting , candles on the table and soothing Indian music playing in the background. The owners and all of the staff are very friendly and attentive.

The food is excellent—the chef really know his stuff! Each dish is flavorful, authentic and not at all greasy. The menu has vegan, vegetarian and meat options available. They are also very accommodating with food allergies and a member of our dining party had a tree nut allergy. The spiciness level of the food can also be adjusted to suit all palates.

If you have not yet been to Tandoori Flames, it is most definitely worth the trip!

Terrible Experience – Extremely Rude Owner

We had one of the worst dining experiences here. When we arrived, we were seated but no one mentioned there would be a long wait. It took nearly 20 minutes before anyone even came to our table. When we expressed our frustration, the owner suddenly dashed out of the kitchen and started yelling at us, saying we “needed to understand there’s a staff shortage” and should expect to wait.

We understand that restaurants can be short-staffed, but there’s absolutely no excuse for unprofessional and rude behavior toward customers. A simple apology and communication upfront would have made all the difference. Instead, we were met with shouting, attitude and arrogance.

We left without eating and will definitely not be returning. Poor service and worse management.

Very nice restaurant and the friendly staff makes it even better. I had rasam soup which is the best soup I e ever had hands down. I could eat it every day. I also had chicken Tikka masala and garlic naan bread which were both delicious. I will be back soon and often. The prices on the menu were also very reasonable for how nice the establishment is and for the gourmet food they serve. If you haven’t tried this place yet you should sooner than later. Indian food is never mass produced and can only be made in small batches due to all the spice blending they do. They are masters at blending spices and cooking with vegetables and legumes. Try it soon.
