Entered in on a perfectly calm rainy day, and our server was so nice! I can be picky about Mexican food, and this stuff was awesome. My pork tamale came with enchilada sauce on top, and it was perfectly steamed. Yum!

We were here after our Salinas trip, group of four people came here for lunch. As soon as arrived we were seated greeted and served with menu and water. It was not too much rush as it was after noon. The staff was attentive to our orders for food preferences and they made sure to let us know of the portions so that we could order as per the need. The ambience was quiet, we ordered tacos, burritos with chicken enchiladas and water for drinks. The service was fast, we enjoyed our food and talk and the staff didn’t rush us. We almost finished everything and left the place thanking them. The food was delicious but language was a problem as we didn’t have anyone speaking Spanish. The price was reasonable and delicious food as it was all freshly made. I will recommend this place for sure. The ambience could be made better but it’s spacious.

Absolutely amazing food. Visiting from out of town and tried this place. Seriously some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Generous portions and friendly staff. Very recommended!

Our favorite Mexican food in Gilroy. Currently it’s outdoor dining only but still great food and service.
Update: They have indoor dining now. It was super busy last time we went but Anna still gave great service!
Update: Soooooooo good! Highly recommend!
Update December 2023: I love the cheese enchiladas Rojo, Verde Enchiladas with pork, Chimichanga, steak sandwich, Fajitas. Excellent service and delicious food. Go give it a try.
Update January 2025:
Still enjoy the food and service. Please give it a try.

A hidden local gem in downtown Gilroy. If you are craving a delicious and buttery garlic dish made for garlic lovers, definitely get the garlic shrimp (camarones al mojo de ajo)! The complimentary chips and salsa were also amazing. And the prices are great compared to nearby restaurants. The rice was a bit dry though and the burrito didn’t have enough sauce. Best to get the recommended dishes from here rather than a la carte. overall would recommend!

Disappointed
Garlic shrimp was very bad. Garlic clearly from a jar, and sweet (?) Possibly expired. Feel sick even after washing/scraping the Garlic stuff off.
Prices were unreasonable.
Cannot recommend

Best Mexican food in Gilroy. The price is a little higher than some resteraunts, But you definitely get what you pay for. Try the 3 meat Fajitas (juicy, tender and hot). Very good chips and salsa and a very good kids menu.

For being an authentic Mexican food restaurant, i was somewhat disappointed..
We ordered the menudo plate, just to realize it was from a can.. And I know canned menudo when I see it, and sure tasted like it too.
They need to do better and stop cutting corners on food

Awesome place, third time here, and we loved the food again. The Chile Verde is excellent, not too spicy hot, tastes great, also the rice, and beans and the guacamole. All the food tastes fresh, and authentic. The place is cozy, and we have always seen somewhat large groups eating here, so the news is out about this great Mexican restaurant. Good beer selection, I had not had a Dos x in a long time, so it was nice to try one again, and it didn’t disappoint. This is definitely one of Gilroy’s gems. Thank you to the chef for his/her culinary artistry. Any one can make Mexican food, but certainly only a few can make it taste this good. And that’s why we go out to eat….
