I had a good time. The only minor snafu was my apple salad had bacon in it but I didn’t care enough to complain. In terms of the place as a whole, there’s a lot to do here. It’s a great place for families or dates or friends.
However, this evening I brought my family and my daughter’s friend there to celebrate her birthday and it was a different story. One of two of these might have not been a big deal by themselves but it was just in general a pretty inconvenient experience.
– We explained we were going to eat and bowl, apparently there was a mix up and our lane never got marked for food? No biggie. Lady at the front was friendly but seemed new – I get it. We decided to get an extra hour of bowling since the time was almost up and we had yet to get our food.
– Server arrived and apologized again. Ordered our food, mixup on one of the meals. Took a while but they got the correct meal to us.
– When we finished up I realized I had yet to receive a bill, waited about 10 minutes before going to the front and asked if we paid there – they said they would get the server to bring the bill shortly. Waited another 10 minutes and finally received the bill.
– I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza special. Was very dry with burnt bacon, very bland except for every 4th bite you’d get a bit of ranch. Stated “Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza $18 on the specials board. Once I finally got my bill it was $26. I asked about it, apparently that was only if you ordered the small. Ok.
– Arcade – 1/4th of the Machines are off or labeled for repair, 1/4th of the machines are on but not functional in one way or the other – the last 1/2 seem to work fine. Pricing / Prizing are fine, but it was like pulling teeth getting someone to come to redeem points. General maintenance of arcade seems non-existant. Side note – experienced a fair amount of tehcnical glitches while bowling – pins that weren’t knocked down counting as knocked down – Sometimes when lane would reset for next player it would only drop 3 or 4 pins instead of all of them.
It didn’t seem particularly busy for a Saturday Evening and staff looked abundant, but the general vibe felt like it was being run like they were down 40% of their staff. Prices are too steep for mediocrity.
As a season bowler, I found myself feeling disappointed with the conditions on the approach, they were very dangerous. There are different areas of the bowling center. You have your Pit where people put their street shoes have something to eat or drink, the Approach where you get your balls and actually get up on the lanes. the Lanes. Each one of them have different conditions, The approach is by far the most important area to keep bowlers safe.
Very recently I had a bad fall at Junction Bowl due to the conditions, it was very sticky/tacky some sort of residue was on the approach. Causing my feet to stick and fall hard. After a visit to the emergency room the X-rays showed that I fractured my vertebrae in my back. At the moment I felt I broke my back and It took my breath away.
The staff never asked or tried to help me in anyway. If it wasn’t for the friends I would be still laying there.
The manager on duty was very rude to me as well. She had a well rehearsed speech she gave me. When I asked if it was a report to complete , she became very defensive with me and said no that they didn’t have such a thing.
After sometime to think about what took place I just want people to know that you better be extra cautious when bowling at Junction Bowl. The conditions are horrendous. I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life. I pray this never happens to anyone else.
