Very disappointed in the food and portions. I got the brisket plate which did have a good portion but it was extremely dry and hard to eat. The side portions were comically small and lacked flavor. I have to say the staff was very nice but the prices do not match what’s online or the pictures.

Good food, they cover it is sauce which I didn’t care for. Greens were great, red beans and rice lacked some flavor. Shorters mom was there and she’s a kick in the pants! Lol she made the experience! Also it’s attached to the old school bowling alley so that was cool too

I wanted a last min spot to grab lunch, and this place did not disappoint I got the pulled pork sandwich lunch special with a small side of greens. My mistake!! I’ll get the large side of greens next time. I feel so lucky that this is only 11 min away from my job. You want some tasty, savory, portioned well food? This is the spot! The building looks a Lil old, but the people in it totally make up for it. The cashier was very polite and attentive. The cooks in the back sounded like they were enjoying their time there. The inside did not have a lot of seating. Parking lot is spacious. All and all I’m coming back! For lunch and hell maybe dinner after work

Looks like these guys are going to be moving. If you want the best barbecue in the Central valley, this is it. The service is fantastic, and you cannot beat the peach cobbler or the banana pudding. Grab a three-piece along with spaghetti and beans and a couple of ice cold grape sodas and you are good to go. This place kicks butt and I can’t wait for them to get relocated. Whenever that is. I will be following them.

We love bbq and we’re really excited to try out this spot. It’s good but unfortunately not great. The Mac was a bit mushy and perhaps older as the cheese was separated and oily, the ribs needed more time to tenderize. The pulled pork was tender and the bbq sauce really made the plate pop.

Overall, delicious. Prices represent the portions and delicious food you’ll be having. I got the brisket, spaghetti, and greens all of which did not disappoint. Great spot to go to if you’re in the area, or if you happen to be at the bowling alley/bar. All are conveniently located in the same building.

My friend recommended this place, which has been around for 20 years.

We ordered the 3-meat combo with 2 sides, decided to try the ribs, brisket and Tri-tip with coleslaw and collard greens. The ribs were definitely my favorite, the brisket second and the trip-tip not so much because it was shredded instead of whole. We also got some rib tips and a banana pudding to complete a classic BBQ meal. The rib tips were just super large pieces of rib ends, a bit tough and nothing special. I would recommend the ribs instead.

Overall, not bad BBQ, but nothing really stood out to me.

I have a hard time with BBQ places that are recommended by skinny people. Especially the last couple places that I’ve been to that had their trophies displayed made me question where in the world did they compete because it tasted old and nasty. I make my own rubs and smoke my meats using real wood like real pit masters should. As a fat guy who loves BBQ I have a checklist of things that I look for to be called great BBQ. Hands down Shorter’s got me. I have been hesitant even though I’ve seen the big smoker in the front. My go to on a menu is pulled pork. My God it was fantastic. The sweet and tangy BBQ sauce covering the perfectly slow smoked pork is amazing. The price was just right and the pulled pork nachos were a hit with my kids. Normally, I’ll take my time to take pictures and eat slowly to savor the flavor but there was no savoring nothing. I was almost done before I realised I hadn’t taken any pictures. By the time I got to the nachos my kids had cheese and bits of pork stuck to their face as they were shoving it in. If you’re in the area you should definitely stop in. I’ll be working my way around the menu real soon. In my book a restaurant is quality when you start craving it out of the blue. I’ll be going there after I pick up my kids from school. Who knows, we might just blow a few games while we’re there. They also bring the food to your lane which is a plus.

Well I’m giving it 2 stars because of the smell of the bbq grill smoke as I was driving past and decided to stop. I ordered the 3 piece catfish and fries. The catfish had no flavor as I had to take each bite with some fries because they had salt on them.
The presentation was good tho.

Got a 3 way meat with brisket hot link and pull pork. With beans and coleslaw. Coleslaw and beans were really good. As for the meats hot link was good. The pull pork wasn’t bad was ok. Brisket was lil dry and shredded. That I didn’t like. I like it in slices. Overall everything was good. Next time I would probably ask for bbq sauce on the side.
