Social Profile:

The bb.q in our name stands for Best of the Best Quality, and that’s exactly what you can expect from every one of our restaurants. Our Korean fried chicken is crispier, juicier, and more tender than anything you’ve tasted before, and our sauces provide an eclectic mix of flavor. Every dish is the result of both longstanding Korean tradition and modern research and development from our very own Chicken University. It’s a tremendous amount of work, but it’s all worth it when you take that first bite.

I’m a big fan of this chain and order here pretty frequently. Having worked in the restaurant industry for several years, I understand people make mistakes. What was surprising and disappointing is the lack of accountability and willingness to try to make the situation right. I ordered a Large Secret Sauce Wings for take out. Once I got home, I discovered that they forgot the sauce. Called and spoke with Caleb. His customer service was the epitome of “I’m just here to collect my hourly pay” aka I don’t give a shit. When I asked “can you give me a refund / what can you do to try to make it right?” he responded with “Um, nothing. Since plain wings are the same price, you got what you paid for except the sauce.” Coming from an employee at a place called “bb.q chicken” I was kind of speechless. With that logic you should change the name to “plain chicken” and update your menu. What’s the point of offering different flavors when we’ll just give you whatever we want? You should just call it “surprise” wings. Lastly, when I asked who the manager was and if I could speak to them, he said that the manager (Kevin) wasn’t there. “Since he’s the owner, he just comes and goes randomly.” On the receipt, it says “server: Kevin C.”

For future potential customers, if you feel like rolling the dice, I highly recommend!

I love bb.q chicken and have been spoiled at the one in Quincy. I had ordered twice from the Lowell location and they have been disappointments. My first order, I ordered the Rose Ddeok-Bokki and got the Mala instead. I know the taste between the two but I prefer the rose. And I was like whatever, it’s fine. The second time we ordered, they did the exact same thing, Mala again. But this time, all they gave us was just the rice cake. Where was the fish cake???? The chicken was good but it didn’t feel like it was recently made. I’ve noticed that if you don’t tip “well”, they don’t give a shit about your order. I called them about the second order and told them. The guy said he will have the manager call me back give me a refund and I haven’t gotten a response. It’s been weeks. I also file a complaint about the orders on the website and still haven’t gotten a response. BB.q chicken is one of my favorite places to eat. I’m really disappointed in their lack of customer service.

Updated: I continue to order from them. And they have been getting their orders right. So thank you.

We ordered chicken wings yesterday with secret sauce, but what I got was just regular original wings. I tried to get a hold of a manager but there was no response to make this situation right. What I wanted was a refund or a discount on my next order. It took us 30 min. to get there, and the order wasn’t made right. I would like to get a refund or a discount. This order made me really upset.

from this place, only to be deeply disappointed. This isn’t my first time ordering from here — in fact, I’ve been a regular customer, often buying both types of chicken once or even twice a month.

But today was a complete letdown. When I opened the box at home, the chicken looked worse than what you’d expect from a random local joint. The texture was dry and tough, as if it had been fried days ago and reheated multiple times. It was honestly inedible.

I’ve never felt this upset after bringing food home. If I lived closer, I’d seriously consider bringing it back. Needless to say, I won’t be ordering from here again. As someone who has supported this place regularly, this experience was extremely disappointing.

Ordered take-out for pick-up. Arrived on time and not only was the food not ready, it didn’t even seem to be started. They told me 10 minutes on it, but it took over 20 to get out to me. In that time two other take out or door dash orders went out, one door dash guy was waiting around for his pick up and only one dine in couple came in so it’s not like the place was swamped with orders.

The chicken and fries were quite good when I got home which is consolation, but the sauce on the tteokkbokki was pretty thin and watery, not great.

Honestly not sure it’s worth it when I could literally have driven to Malden and back quicker than this took from order to getting my food home.

We went to visit the Hive Marketplace, and thought this would be a good place to eat. The food was decent, once we got it. We were a party of 5. We got 2 of the rice bowls, 2 orders of wings, fried dumplings, a rose, and I forget the other one (extra spicy veg and cheese). There was one server and one cook. We got one dish every 15 minutes. Literally. One rice bowl. Wait. One chicken wings. Wait. One more chicken wings. Wait…after an hour, two of us still didn’t get our main meals and everyone else was done eating. I was REALLY angry, and the server fought with me when I said to cancel the two meals we didn’t receive. One came out as we were getting the check and I took it to go. Told me it was the cheese/spicy one and argued with me because they didn’t put cheese in it. They added the cheese, sent me home, and it was the rose. Never going back.

When this place opened a couple years back it was great, but its been going downhill for some time. Today it was likely the worst its been. Me and my fiance were the only one sat as everyone else left due to the long wait times. People kept coming in but waited for over 20 minutes at a time before asking the waiter how they can cancel their order. I was sitting there watching people come and go for over 1hour as they all stared back at my table. VERY AWKWARD. Waiter never came by and asked us for water, or even said sorry for the wait. just stood there and stared a few times. Cook was loud but somehow not making any food for a straight hour. I would NOT suggest getting anything here unless the wait times, and service changes.

There is hotpot, seafood, and ramen nearby thats worth going to rather than here.

Heard a lot about Korean double fried chicken and also about their other dishes, so when visiting nearby someone suggested this place, I eagerly agreed.

Their focus is chicken wings. You cab get them with bones, or as tenders. There are a dozen or more sauces and two or three other dishes. In other words, it’s not a complete exposure to Korean cuisine.

We tried two of the sauces, a kimchi rice and a rice noodle dish. The two chickens were crunchy, but not as much as I was lead to believe. The two sauces were supposed to be at different heat levels but they seemed the same to us. They were both on the sweet side.

The kimchi rice seemed more like Chinese fried rice since I did not see any cabbage in it nor taste any of the fermented flavors.

The best dish was the rice noodle dish which came with a creamy curry like sauce that we all loved.

Portions are generous.

We ordered rice cake and fried chickens with two flavors in store. All are delicious. The taste of the rice cake is with rich flavors. We enjoyed a lot. The two flavors of the fried chickens are also good. The indoor environment is bright and relaxing. One unexpected is we got the wrong the bill. We paid and then realized the amount was way higher than we ordered. So, we checked with the server. They cancelled the previous payment and reprint the correct one again. It was fixed then.
