The food was overall very pleasant and affordable. For app, we got vegetable samosa (mostly mashed potato inside), and it’s really satisfying to eat. For entree, I got the saag paneer. Compared to the India restaurant on Hope street, the saag paneer is less heavy on the fat and more garlicy.
Also, The lunch special was $9.99 when we went. You get rice, 1/2 a naan, and two types of curry. It’s a great deal!
My group was rather huge being a group of 10, which was probably beyond the usual. I am taking that into account as I consider the service time. We wait about 20 minute to order and waited probably around 1.5 hours for the food to arrive at out table. The wait was rather long but the food was very good
The atmosphere of the restaurant seemed like they were geared towards takeout as half of the restaurant was dark and cleaned up. Our side was set up very nicely, but the lights were dim until we got our food. When they turned the light completely on for us to eat.
Mostly likely due to our huge group size, they did miss one of the items we order, but we had no trouble remove from our receipt
Overall the food was good, but the wait time was rather long and I think if I ever decided to eat there again, I’ll order in advance for takeout or something
The sodas are canned (which I prefer) and the Masala Tea (Chai) was great. We ordered the vegetarian Mixed Platter to share. It was the perfect size to just get a little sampler of all the apps. Shahi Paneer and Chicken Vindaloo to share. As always, the vindaloo was spicy ( we got it medium ) that’s to be expected. I loved mixing the two curries; they went very well together.
It appears to be more for take-away because no one else came to dine in, just a lot of pick up orders for to go coming in and out.
“Jack & Coke” is on the cocktail list which I had a good laugh over but it’s only $6 which is really reasonable.
There is plenty of parking because it’s in a plaza and there is a customer restroom as well.
⚠️ Their “medium” spice level is really spicy to me. Most people are probably best off sticking to “mild.” ⚠️
However, the yogurt dressing that comes with biryani really helps calm the spice down if needed! I personally enjoyed the meal regardless of ordering “medium” spice because of my high spice tolerance (I enjoy haberneros).
They provide takeout containers for any extra food which is always a plus.
I mistakenly ordered the wrong dish online for pick up.
I realized when I arrived and they were nice enough to sub out for me even thought it was $1 difference.
The attending person, Prakash is very soft spoken and asked for feedback if the food is ok. Finally they also gave us tea before leaving.
