This place is so impressively cozy that I’m sitting here writing this after finishing my meal. The lighting, the decor, and the rocking 80’s soundtrack playing softly overhead all just works.
For me, this new iteration of Harper’s is everything I could have possibly hoped for. I had been to both Harper’s locations before they closed – for all of maybe 4 times in 20 years. I have always craved their chicken tender salad, with 1000 Island that tastes homemade and is delicious. And do you know how hard it is to find good 1000 Island dressing on a menu around here??
But the full service restaurants were always out of the way, or a full sit down lunch seemed like it would take too much time.
Here at their new counter service restaurant, I can get the same food I loved, but it’s so much more convenient! Service is quick. After you order, you fill your own drink and take a number to your table and your food will be brought out to you. While it’s “counter service”, it’s sort of a hybrid, where they check in on you once you’ve got your meal and take your plates when you’re done. And the salad? It’s just as I remembered it!
I don’t miss the full bar, and they’ve made the place quite cozy. The only drawback I can find is that I miss the little salad dressing boat they gave you in the restaurant. The little 4oz containers aren’t enough for my addiction.
I’ll be back here often.

My first visit this week at the recommendation of a neighbor. Lunch earlier in the week and breakfast today. Love this place. Food is fresh and flavorful, no shortcuts. Staff is out of their way nice, unlike a lot of the chain restaurants around us. Highly recommend. This will be one of our go to places.

I almost did not give even one star!! Can’t believe people have rated this place so high. The chicken supremes do not seem to be really fried. Maybe air fried? The batter falls off the chicken and is not at all crispy. The worst part is the service. Absolutely ridiculous. We had two tickets. One for me and my son and one for my sister and nephew. We waited and waited. Watched several tables who came in after us get served parts of their order. Finally, my son was served his side. About 5 minutes later, his platter came. Then my nephew’s lunch. My sister and I waited and waited. About 15 minutes later, her salad came. 30 minutes later my salad came!!! I had to go back to the front to ask about my food. Was told there had been a mix-up. NO KIDDING. Obviously, everyone else had finished eating. I was given no apology or offer to comp my meal. Would NEVER recommend this place

Why have I not seen this little gem before?! Breakfast sandwich is delicious with their garlic aoli mayo and the tuna melt is probably the best I’ve ever had! Portions are huge and the higher price is worth it all! Nothing wrong with leftovers. Glad I found Harper’s Cafe!

Nothing can replace the old harbors, but this one’s got a great menu. Haven’t tried the breakfast. Had the chicken Supremes, which are famous in Charlotte. Everything was delicious. Will be coming back so nice to find out. They’ve opened something close to Harper‘s. Thank goodness because we always will all miss the one in South Park

Oooh I’m so excited to have at least a little Harper’s back! Nothing will beat my old fave (I miss the bar too) but this is a step in the right direction. Maybe they will come back full force for dinner too!!!
Anywho I am hoping I can get a Sicilian pizza since that was my go to for years and years. Checking heck-I remember when they had the takeaway place too. Yay Harpers!!!

It was such a phenomenal experience to go ‘back’ and eat at Harper’s today. I can’t express the jubilance we felt when we got the news that Harper’s reopened. Make no mistake about it, Harper’s is back. The location is perfect. Do yourself a favor and go have a amazing dining experience. Breakfest and Lunch ofcourse given the Monday thro Friday 7am-3pm hours.
The salads are still A+++++++. The creamy garlic seems to be more like traditional ranch now. No complaints there, because everything else is just how you will remember. The Supremes, the ORIGINAL Chicken Supremes, are Absolulety the best. No fries here but in subsitute please preprare yourself for some of the best homemade chips you will ever eat. Bar none. A++++++ Chips. Seems like they are sweet potato chips too. Wow!!!! Hats off Harper’s crew.
The Cole Slaw is worth driving an hour away for. This is the best Slaw I have ever had in my life. If you like creamy cole slaw, you will be in heaven. Also, this Harper’s has Grits. Enough said. A+++++++
I ordered the Fairview Chicken Sandwich. Thick, juicy Chicken, cooked PERFECTLY Will be getting this again. I asked to add pickels. I dare you to find a better grilled Chicken sandwich…. becuase you can’t.
Let me tell you, the Service was outstanding. As it is being a order at the front and take whatever seating is available format, it is Quite different than the pervious Harpers. But dont fool yourself, the quality and standard is just as high, or higher than South Park and the Carolina Place Harper’s.
We also talked with the kitchen manager. You and your Crew gave us a A++++++++ Lunch.

Quality upscale food reasonably priced and excellent. Clean place efficient counter service and they bring the food HOT to the table. Steam coming from the roasted sweet potato bites with a sauce. WOW!! Like this place.
