Review for Domino’s Pizza – Route 37, Toms River (Visited 8/16/25)
I stopped in on a Monday evening, a few hours before closing, and honestly left pretty disappointed.
First issue was the atmosphere — no greeting, no smile, nothing welcoming when I walked in. Not a deal-breaker on its own, but definitely not a great first impression.
Next was pricing. Online, the prices were lower than in-store, but I decided to stop by while I was out. What really frustrated me was the credit card machine — it would not let me select “no tip,” even though that option appeared on-screen. My card was declined four times until I finally tipped just to get the payment through. I normally tip generously (never under 25%) when I’m being served or getting delivery, but I don’t believe in tipping on a pickup order. This felt like a scammy setup.
While waiting, I watched staff prepare food with bare hands — no gloves, no visible handwashing, and touching multiple surfaces before going back to handling food. I even tried to take a picture, but it didn’t come out clear. In that photo, there are actually two employees doing the same thing, not just one. Take my word for it or check the cameras. I wouldn’t have minded no gloves if I had at least seen some handwashing.
On the positive side, the store itself looked pretty clean, and my order came out quicker than expected. The pizza smelled and looked great — regular cheese — but when I got home, it was extremely oily, the sauce tasted burnt, and although the dough was decent, I ended up feeling sick shortly afterward. I eat pizza about once a week, so I’m confident this wasn’t from anything else.
Overall, I would not recommend this Domino’s or return to this location. Between the forced tip issue, questionable food handling, and the disappointing pizza, it just wasn’t worth it.

Is this location under new management?!?! Ordered two hand tossed pizzas (not thin crust). One with onions and the other with extra bacon. Paid $40 for said pizzas. Welp the dough was the thinnest I have ever seen, to the point one slice had a whole in the middle of it. The onion pie barely had any onions. The bacon pie had some bacon but definitely not the extra bacon I paid for. It’s like they are skimping on the ingredients to stretch their dollar. I have ordered from this location many times in the past but this was horrible. Paid $40 for garbage.

Ordered a handmade pan pizza and it had no sauce and forgot the dipping sauce. Called and they sent out a small plain without the toppings I ordered. When I tried calling again they ignored my phone calls. I just wanted what I ordered.
Follow up: When I placed this order I did so at my friends house who has nothing to do with my experience. Now in an act of retribution for this review they are cancelling any attempt from my friend to order due to them knowing the address and description from my initial review. Horrible and will be following up with their corporate office.

I just did a 57 dollar order with tip. Been waiting for my food for a while. Just walked to my door.and my food was left outside. No knock on my door ,no doorbell ring nothing. This the type of service I tip for? Not cool thanks domino’s love to eat cold food. Thanks for hanging up when tried to call too.

I would give 0 starts if I could after my experience. I ordered a delivery order that sat in a pending queue for over 30 minutes. I finally went to go pick up the order instead where I was rudely greeted and told multiple times my order, that was complete and ready, would just be canceled to avoid a bad review. This order was Christmas night and the worker was clearly overworked and understaffed. I was then told my order was just going to be canceled when I asked if they could heat up my order. The workers handed me half the order and continued to argue with me about canceling it then when they finally gave me my order they followed me out the door and asked why my boyfriend didn’t come inside to get the, when in reality it shouldn’t of been an issue.

I want to leave this here as my first review ever. I never thought that going to a place where I simply wanted to buy a pizza for my kids, arriving in a good mood, would turn into the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant in New Jersey.
I came here during the Christmas holidays, and the employee working here truly ruined our night. I tried to place an order around 7:00 PM, and the employee was extremely rude and literally kicked me out, saying they were no longer accepting new orders.
Honestly, Domino’s pizzas have always been some of the best, but this experience made me never want to return to this location again. This was the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in my life, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. 12/25/2025

Easily the worst dominos pizza I’ve ever had, got two pies and cheesy bread, the pies were a complete mess and undercooked (asked for them well done). My expectations are already pretty low because it’s dominos but it was just ridiculous how awful it turned out. Went to pick up the pizzas and the guy working hands me a garlic sauce completely opened and pretended like he didn’t see that it was clearly opened. There’s a ton of other dominos locally, do the drive to Lakehurst if you really want it.

If management is reading yall need to hire new staff – a person who works in the food industry. I ordered a pineapple pizza for delivery. Had it left at the door. When I brought it inside and opened it, to my surprise, it was pepperoni. When I went to call the store to see if they could bring mine back I got put on hold for 25 min I get being busy but that’s absolutely insane. It woulda been one thing if they checked in after 5 – 10 min and were getting in contact with the driver or we’re checking on it but nothing. After 25 min of wasting my time I hung up and call back when ( what a surprise) they don’t answer I sat there for 3 min waiting for someone to pick up the phone when I decided after working 10 hours I’d rather go to sleep than wait another 25-30 min wasting my time talking to and being put on hold by incompetent people. It was as simple as we’re making you a new pie or sending yours back. But yall beat around the bush and it’s ridiculous. I’ll be disputing the charge now with my card instead of getting my pie, a new pie, or a refund.
