What is Abura Soba from KAJIKEN Abura Soba is a soupless ramen from Nagoya with over 100 stores worldwide. It has a more chewy texture when compared to regular ramen. The unique umami is from our secret soy sauce , vinegar and chili oil. And three sauces are directly imported from japan. And soupless ramen actually only has ⅓ of the calories of soup ramen. Many people find it more satisfying and really enjoy the unique taste.

Everytime I come here the food and service is amazing. All the abura soba ramen’s are tasty! I’ve been here 2x in a matter of 3 days lol. Definitely a long lasting customer 🙂

Love it here! We usually get their karaage and wings for appetizers. I love their aburasoba (soupless noodles) and I always get The Original (chashu pork) with some corn and poached egg as add-ons. They also have curry chicken aburasoba as well as tonkatsu ramen, which are good as well. The only difficult part is parking. Also, make sure to get on the waitlist because they usually get really busy as soon as they open – best suited for smaller groups (2-5 people).

The spicy tonkotsu greatly exceeded my expectations. Almost everything was perfect. The tea was also excellent.

Service was great, bathrooms were spacious and clean. Food came out fast.

The only thing I can criticize is the chashu, which is the least commonly perfect, in my opinion. The fat was nearly melt in your mouth, but not quite there, and the lean portion was just a little dry. Still very good, just not quite perfect.

Some of the best noodles I’ve ever had! I came here with a group of 3 after reading the great reviews and visiting the Baltimore Museum of Art. We lucked out by coming on an early spring Sunday. There was a short wait for us to get a nice booth. We must have arrived around 2pm, and even though the restaurant’s lunch hours end at 3pm, we were not kicked out once 3pm arrived. We got to close out our meal uninterrupted (after paying of course) while the staff took their break between the lunch and dinner hours.

I ordered the sukiyaki (sliced beef and onions) noodles and added a jammie egg, kimchi and cucumber. It was the most flavorful bowl of noodles ever! This ramen restaurant definitely lives among the top three I’ve ever eaten at. My only complaint is that they do not have a liquor license. I was in the mood for a cold beer and it would have paired well with that lovely bowl of noodles.

Kajiken is amazing! Everything I’ve eaten there has been delicious. It’s fun for a night out, and it’s also my go-to takeout place in the neighborhood.

Kajiken is by far the best ramen restaurant in Baltimore! I’ve tried everything on their menu and you can’t go wrong. The brothless ramen is more flavorful than the standard broth ramen and the uniqueness of the brothless ramen is another reason why I like this place!

Great food! Ramen was spectacular! Service was super fast, friendly, and informative. We were a pretty big group and had a reservation, which I recommend if you’re taking a group larger than 4. There is a code for the restroom, which was unusual for me, however, given the circumstances I can understand.

I had the old bay ebi, which was plenty for two meals for me. The shrimp was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the noodles and sauce were amazing!

Great food! We started off with the pork gyoza which was delicious and flavorful but a bit too oily. The aged tofu which was deep fried with shreds of radish was so soft and delicious. We got the chashu don donboru which was so good, the chashu was so flavorful 10/10. I love the idea of a ramen place that serves ramen without the broth and the one I got did not disappoint. The homura aburasoba which was sooo delicious and flavorful, literally a 10/10. My friend got the keema curry which was also delicious and had a really strong curry flavor. We also got the salted plum sprite which had a very interesting burst of flavors but was delicious. For dessert, we got the taiyaki ice cream which was also a 10/10 super yummy. Service was relatively quick, there is a wait because the place is relatively popular so try to come at a nonbusy time.

Wow, Kajiken is definitely the best ramen in Baltimore by far. I was not a fan of Peko Peko which was a previous occupant of this store, and I’m so happy that such a delicious ramen restaurant has replaced it! I would 100% come back for the tonkotsu shoyu ramen and the karaage.

The karaage was perfect — juicy, crispy, with great flavor (slight ginger flavor). I thought it was interesting that they provided two “sauces” — I enjoyed the grated daikon sauce. My only qualm is that there are only 5 pieces! I want more!

The tonkotsu shoyu ramen was pretty perfect. The mix of tonkotsu and shoyu broth creates the perfect balance of richness and savoriness. The chashu is not overly fatty and the torching gives it some nice smokiness. The noodles are the thinner noodles and pair perfectly with the broth. The egg is perfectly jammy (though only half of an egg, again I want more).

The original aburasoba was great. It has thick noodles which have a good texture, and the flavor is good. I would definitely choose the tonkotsu shoyu ramen over this, but this is also a very solid option. I like that it’s not too rich unlike some similar dishes I’ve had before.

The edamame was nothing to write home about. I’m not sure if it was the quality of the edamame or the cooking, but it was not tasty.

Overall the prices are very reasonable coming from a Boston resident, and it’s certainly the best ramen I’ve tried in Baltimore. Looking forward to my next visit!

I normally don’t give 5/5 ratings, but considering the friendly service and absolutely delicious ramen how could I not?!
My first time trying Aburasoba (has a little bit of savory sauce in the bottom to mix in instead of broth) so I got The Original, but definitely not the last

You can add toppings a la carte (only got the soft boiled egg this first go) or use the vinegar and chili oils and seasonings at the table to alter the flavors (I really liked the chili oil but the vinegar oil surprised me in a positive way as well!).

My wife also very much enjoyed her traditional ramen.
We’ll be back to try the menu variations and hopefully some desserts, soon!
