In town for our daughter’s wedding, she had previously been in town preparing. She & fiancé tried several restaurants and loved Little Pugs. So we ordered a lot of food for rehearsal dinner the day before. All the meat and sides were quickly packed up when we arrived. Smelling food on the way to dinner was difficult.
The Pulled Pork was amazing. Beans were great. Collard Greens were amazing – I managed to get one serving before they were gone! Mac & Cheese and Hushpuppies were great. Coleslaw was creamy and delicious. Plenty of sauces were provided. Not much was left after dinner.
The only disappointment was the hot sauce. The owner said they made their own Ghost Pepper sauce. Well, several of our family love really spicy food, like Thai. Their sauce had very little heat, almost none. Kick it up a bit then caution people and make it hot!

Great classic bbq stop. Western style. Friendly service and exceptionally clean. The smoke hits you in the parking lot and draws you in.

When we walked in we were 2 of only 6 people. When we left the place was packed. We had the BBQ plate and the Rib Snacker (with 5 ribs and added onion rings). From the minute you walk in you feel like family. My BBQ plate with pulled pork was a huge portion of meat and the fries were crispy and hot. I loved the regular and also the hot (requested) sauce for my pork and my hush puppy dip. We were skeptical of the ribs after reading past reviews but they were meaty and smoked Perfectly. The owner said that he recently changed the cut of meat. Far better. We needed a To-Go box and had another entire meal out of our leftovers. The pork made great quesadillas! We can’t wait to go back!

Would give 2.5 out of 5 if possible. Very basic. As usual with most places around here theres no seasoning but the bbq sauce was really good. I got the ribs, chicken, sausage and pulled pork. 10/10 on the sausage LOTS of flavor, the chicken was tender but hardly any seasoning if any, the ribs had no seasoning either and some parts were VERY tough and rubbery almost like jerkey and still had the membrane left on it, other parts were more tender. No brisket when i went unfortunately.
All in all, it wasn’t awful but I’d rather go somewhere else, that’s the last time i cheat on my favorite spots

The wife and I arrived when it opened, and that may be why the sliced pork was so very dry. The hush puppies were good and slaw was okay, but the dried out meat had to have been from the previous day based on the many good reviews. To the owner, I say throw out yesterday’s meat.

Got the Brisket plate and 1lb of bbq. First off the Brisket was delicious(added picture of Brisket, had eaten some of slaw and 1 hushpuppy already).
Not sure if the sauce for Brisket and BBQ are suppose to be the same or just from a different batch but the one that came with the BBQ seemed to compliment the Brisket more. Both seemed to be a mostly vinegar base but thankfully without being as thin as water and with a nice spicy note.
The BBQ had minimal fat and a great flavor also! Haven’t had BBQ since moving to Newton 4 years ago and I’m so glad that I tried this place!
