October 2025:
Just wanted to add a comment on the pizza slices that F+W sells (which seems like a Detroit style). The slices are a much thicker crust. We tried the red sauce and the seasonal special. I definitely prefer the thin crust pizza. Would not want the thick slices.

July 2025:
Stopped by for lunch and enjoyed the Conrad pizza and the chop salad . The pizza had mushrooms, kale, taleggio, mozzarella, red onion and roasted garlic . Was very tasty. My first time eating their pizza and I really liked the crust!

Chop salad was delicious. I’d come back again for the salad . Dressing was a creamy Italian dressing that I wish I could make at home .

Great new addition to the neighborhood.

For health reasons I do feel obligated to write this review. I have been to other locations before but tried mission bay for the first time today. I ordered the salad off the menu to go with chicken for extra. I was handed my salad with unusually quick service but didn’t think much of it. I went home to open what happened to be a visibly old and out of date salad not, the salad that should’ve been made to go. I have attached pictures but I can assure you this salad is ancient. This is salad is inedible for my safety. The lettuce was yellow with brown edges and the shriveled cucumbers were white and covered in thick slime.

So as any human who does care about my health I did not eat this expired bowl of vegetables. If this salad didn’t cost me a hefty $25 I would’ve gone about my day. However after I payed well above the San Francisco minimum wage for my small portion of rotten food I felt I would like to get some type of compensation or just to notify. I had to drive back to the restaurant with salad in hand. I did feel a should calmly let management know that this is not edible and it would be nice to receive some compensation in exchange for almost giving me the toilet experience of a lifetime. I was greeted by management who had better things to be doing based on my interaction. I told my situation handed my salad and was met with a shrug. I thankfully got my transaction voided but this salad didn’t seem to phase him. I know that I would’ve felt a bit more urgency if that’s what I was serving. I was told that the salads were made in the morning which I have to disagree with. I am displeased with my interaction today and I hope that this does not happen to anyone else.

We had an okay dinner time here for our first visit. The single square slice was good and enough for one person. French fries were also yummy. But I do not recommend the sausage pizza with broccoli toppings. It was not good at all and had way too much broccoli on it as the topping. I’ll have to go back soon for a different pizza.
Nice to have this pizza shop in the local neighborhood tho.

In a city where the pizza competition is fierce and Tony’s of North Beach still holds the crown, Flour + Water Pizza in Mission Bay manages to carve out a spot of its own. The pies here are genuinely good — light but structured crust, thoughtful toppings, great balance of flavor. You can tell the ingredients are high-quality and the kitchen cares about what they’re putting out.

Is it better than Tony’s? No — but almost no one is. Still, if you’re in Mission Bay and want a reliably excellent pizza without the North Beach crowds or wait times, this is absolutely worth checking out. Solid, satisfying, and a welcome addition to the neighborhood

Casual spot, solid pizza. You have to bus yourself.
The Conrad and Hawaiian were good!
Roasted carrots were more of a cold salad with hard carrots tho

Had the best burrata pizza two days ago and reordered today and it was the saltiest thing we’ve ever tasted. Also arrived cold

Restaurant-quality food that differs from other pizzerias. Welcoming staff. The owner appears to be an Italian. Good vibes inside atmosphere where you can observe the pizza preparation process. Nice and clean outdoor patio with doubled tables. Many people are also place order from here for delivery.

Went here for the GF Gluten free crust. Super excited to finally find a crust that isn’t flat and crispy. If you know, you know. The crust is fluffy and super filling. Be careful with their ingredients though, sausages and white sauce have gluten. The nice gentleman taking our order was sweet enough to look up the ingredients for me and made sure I was taken care of. (Thank you nice gentleman taking our order). Margarita, add mushroom and pepperoni. Did not disappoint

I have wanted to try Flour & Water forever but we always end up at Tony’s. Today we stayed in our neighborhood, Mission Rock, and gave F&W a go. There wasn’t a line (being 2pm) and we were greeted by a friendly face. We always try a pepperoni first as a classic comparison to other pizzerias. Our order to go was text to us in under 10mins and we picked it up from the same smiling face. All the goodies like parm, oregano, chilis and chili oil were clean and full. Grabbed some napkins and off we went to McCovey Cove to devour this little beauty in the shade of trees. I’m really glad to find a great pizza next to us so we don’t have to scoot to North Beach for Tony’s or GB. And a $23 pie easily fed both of us….not to shabby for SF prices with excellent quality.
