The food tastes great, but was extremely over priced for what you got. The steak was only 4oz and came with a small amount of fries. There was a mystery sauce that was good, but not the chimichurri or mustard sauce that was on the menu. Not worth the $27 price tag. We also got the chips, salsa and queso. I added guac ($3) and extra chips ($2), which brought the price to around $20. The amount of guac you got was laughable and tasted like it was pre-packaged. Overall I’d say you’ll get some decent food, but it does not match the price point.

I saw the food pictured online and just had to try. I ordered a margarita and paid $12 for a shot sized drink. The food came from a food trailer which is generally great. They had a wedding party there earlier, and it was apparent that they didn’t prepare because they were out of nearly everything. I ordered the burger for $18, and it came with nothing and I was not allowed to order sides. It was very good but certainly not “the best in Austin” or anywhere. Certainly not worth $18 by itself. The suggested tip was 20% for food they did not bring to the table; you had to pick it up from the trailer.
UPDATE: They added another $2+ to my credit card without my permission for a drink that included more ice cube than drink in a shot sized glass.
Not a great experience.

Well, I’m glad to know I have found a new contender for the best burger in Austin. As someone who loves Nilgai, it is definitely the prominent flavor in each bite. Smash style, crisped to perfection, awesome seasoning, and that melty cheese concoction that’s out of this world. Will come back just for that. Our server was awesome, Hayley was super friendly and fast with drinks which were also delicious. The quail dip went perfectly too. Sweet outdoor patio area that’s great to relax on. What a stellar trailer serving top notch nomz.

The best burger I’ve had in Austin. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Fried quail sandwich, loaded sweet potato tots, duck tinga taco, classic nacho—all amazing. Plus you can’t beat the Desert Door atmosphere and cocktails.

I find it ridiculous to pay $15 for a small tray of broken corn chips and 2 bowls of a tiny dollops of salsa and queso in each.. like barely even a half inch of either in the cups. We really hate that when dining out, could have bought a whole entree somewhere else. I also had to wait around for almost 10minutes and no one acknowledged me while waiting to pick up this small portion of food. Sucks because we love desert door.

10 stars! Seriously one of the best fried fowl sammies this side of the Rio Gran’. Wedge salad was also creeper hit! Don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu!

My fiancé and I found this place while traveling through Austin. We love the place and the food. We shared the duck flautas and it was exceptional! Very good taste and seasoning. Steph and Ethan made the experience amazing with the delicious food. Thank you all for your hardwork!

I ordered the quail cheese dip and it was 100% cold. The cream cheese was in blocks and not melted. It appears that they only melted the top layer of American sprinkled cheese. I couldn’t believe they served it cold. The quail in the dip was also cold! I was 100% disappointed. We also got the duck quesadillas and those where good. I was hoping to have a good experience considering they serve outside of such an amazing bar. Fail.

We must have hit this on a bad day because the food was absolutely terrible. We love Dai Due so we were really excited to try this food truck. We were jazzed about the burger but it wasn’t on the menu. We ended up just getting the watermelon salad and the taco bowl, one with turkey and one with venison. We took 3 bites and had to stop, it was so bad. Like I genuinely think the meat may have been bad. The venison was like dry dog food and the turkey tasted gamey. But even aside from that, the whole dish was just lazy. Chipotle has better presentation that these bowls had. The watermelon salad was ok, but again just lazy. It was about half full of liquid, I’m guessing watermelon juice? We left hungry. Again, hopefully just a bad day but an absolute waste of money.
