We LOVED this place! The food was amazing! We did have to ask for our water and drinks a few times, but we agreed that the staff were lovely. We will definetly be back. A great find!

Excellent sushi

A lovely place for sushi, if a little cramped. We can ended up on a tiny window seat, which didn’t give us a huge amount of elbow room… but we don’t need that, we need tasty food. And this place certainly has that!

miso soup, 8/10
seaweed salad, 8/10
prawn kataifi, 8/10, they were really nice, interesting change from the regular from tempura, but honestly I’d probably just go for tempura next time.
Takoyaki, 9/10, This dish is usually pretty standard, but this was somehow more flavourful than normal, very very good.
lava roll, 8/10, not quite what I expected, being drenched in cheese was by no means a bad thing though 🙂
prawn tempura, 9/10, oh yeah I forgot, we got snacky after chatting for a bit and ended up getting tempura anyway. It was excellent.

Service was great, our waitress Sofia was a darling, really helpful, and has excellent taste in music

Very good experience in this little restaurant. We just popped in for lunch and had the Sukiyaki. Shared with 2 people, it’s a generous amount of food: lots of beef and a variety of vegetables in the pot. Also an enjoyable experience to have the hot pot at the table. Overall, delicious. We also had the mochi for dessert, which was also good. Service was attentive.

I’ve been here a few times and it’s consistently good. All the sushi dishes you’d expect as well as some other Japanese options. The atmosphere is quiet and intimate so I’d recommend it for a date or just a relaxing gossip between friends.

Every dish I had was superb. I had a large selection of sushi (salmon, tuna and fried chicken) that were the best I’ve ever tasted and eaten. The portions were also very big in comparison to other Japanese restaurants I have been to. I also had a beef yaki soba that was better than any I’ve ever had before. The price was very reasonable particularly for the quality of food being received. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that appreciates delicious and diverse Japanese cuisine.

Disappointing meal to be honest. The sashimi was nice, but the miso soup was not great and neither was the agedashi tofu or the rest of the food. Don’t get me wrong, it was fine in parts (ie acceptable). But I didn’t leave feeling good and I won’t return. The mayo seemed thick like it was out of a cheap bottle, the beef texture was not pleasant, the speciality dragon roll was not great. The American server was also quite clueless, we asked about whether a bowl was from and she just said ‘don’t ask me’ and that was her approach to any questions. The setting and crockery is beautiful. But sadly, the food just wasn’t anywhere near the standard of sushi and Japanese that we had in Edinburgh. I wanted to love this place, but it just wasn’t for me. This was a disappointing (expensive) meal, sadly.

Such a great experience. The staff were genuinely kind and thoughtful — when our dish was brought incorrectly, they immediately remade it and didn’t charge us at all. The food was excellent, and even when I accidentally spilled a glass, they reassured us and took care of everything. It’s rare to feel this well looked after. Highly recommend!

Food is consistently great and service friendly and good. Mixed sharing plates are a great way to introduce some Japanese foods to those who haven’t tried it before. Drinks are also nice. Only proviso (small) is that later on every time I’ve been the brush and pan have been out which makes you feel it’s time to leave.

Excellent spot for a sit down sushi dinner, some of the best sushi in the city that I’ve tried. High quality fish and shellfish, loads of variety and a nice step above the basic sets. Agedashi tofu and mixed tempura were the stand outs of the hot dishes we tried. Great non-alcoholic options for drinks and the service was fantastic, lovely staff who were attentive without hovering or rushing us even though we sat gabbing for over 2 hours! Nice enough for a wee special date but relaxed enough for a quick casual dinner, really recommend. We got a ton of sushi and hot dishes to share between 3 of us and it was about 130 quid which isn’t dirt cheap but we ordered half the menu and felt the quality really matched the price.
