I order a number 4 dinner, all beef patties egg foo young . Then once I start eating my food it started getting chewy and then tasting like double mint gum, that is when I realized someone had spit there gum in the food I was now chewing. That is so disgusting, I’m never eating there again .

This place used to be the best 10 years ago. They used to have huge portions and the tastiest orange chicken you could find in the Highwood Area. Now, the food tastes like it came from a frozen box. They also say they’re open until 9, but the dine in was closed at 8. Staff was also rude and looked at us like we were a problem. I would give this place 0 out of 5 if I could.

Very good. Generous portions and also generous with the protein. We got the chicken lo mein and two egg rolls. It was 25 dollars. For “good eaters” it is plenty of food for two people. For “lite eaters”, it would be able to feed 4 people. Also, I couldn’t find a menu online so this is my gift to the Chinese food eaters in Highwood.

This is such a great local spot! Lots of lovely green plants around the restaurant, plenty of seating, and conveniently located in downtown Highwood. It has both street and lot parking. They make the food fresh and it is soooo good. You get a lot of soup for the price & the egg drop soup is a win! I can also recommend the curry chicken, teriyaki beef on sticks, and all the fried rice varieties! We’ll definitely be back! I’ve only heard great things about Mee Jun’s!

Gave Mee Jun a quick egg roll test; typical shrimp and cabbage, size wise they were on the average side and the taste was okay, just not the old school fat Chicago style Cantonese egg rolls with peanut butter that I was hoping for.

It’s been nearly 10 years since my last time eating Mee Juns as the distance is not so close anymore. Went last week and very glad my friend reminded me how good it is! Ordered shrimp chop suey was excellent! Shrimp looks tastes nice and clean. Best chop suey I ever had and the rice is still top notch. Portions are huge and affordable priced. I can’t wait to have again and plan on it soon.
